Alien Races - the KREE
A warrior race, the Kree have known near-constant warfare since before they ever reached the stars. Their xenophobia, arrogance and warmongering has left a mark on the universe that will be felt for eons. But beneath all that lies a nobility and sense of honour that shapes as much of the Kree's actions as their hostility. Proving both threat and ally to Earth and the Avengers on multiple occasions, the Kree have risen and fell from prominence on numerous occasions. Fresh off their appearance in captain Marvel read now the epic story of the... Kree!"

It was GibberingFool who did the text and this was a brand new article. So everything here was written in the past few months. For a race like the Kree it’s a big undertaking to chart their history.
Everybody is entitled you their opinion...but yours is wrong.

Great work everyone!
The Kree didn't have their own entry before this right?
I have also been wondering how to access some of these articles on MA.net. I'm not sure how to access the crossovers, etc.

Re: Alien Races - the KREE
So, I assume the pink/blue Kree thing is a retcon, right? A writer was either trying to shoehorn a blue character into the pink Kree race (or vice versa), or two inconsistent stories were published, and someone had to find a way to reconcile them.
Anyone know the publication history well enough to speak to this?

Re: Alien Races - the KREE
It wasn't SO much of a retcon; the Kree were introduced in 1967, and the Pink/Blue Kree racial strife was explicit by 1969. I'm not sure what Ronan looked like in his first appearance -- what copies I've seen of FF #65 suggest he was colored pink in that appearance. However, the Kree next appeared in MSH #12-13 and the Captain Marvel series, where they were all Pink (Mar-Vell, Yon-Rogg, Una, etc.)
When Ronan and Zarek appeared, however, they were sort of...block-colored in a way that obscured their skin color (see page 2 of Mar-Vell's Spotlight Bio for an example). By Captain Marvel #16, it was explicitly established in text that Zarek and Ronan were Blue and hated the Pinks.
(Of course, the Kree were then depicted as Pinks in ancient times from the Celestial Madonna saga years later, which would be inaccurate as Pink Kree only existed after the formation of the empire and the creation of the Supreme Intelligence. Cavemen Kree should be Blue.)

Re: Alien Races - the KREE
Yeah Monolith has it covered. Its been firmly established the Kree are blue and pinks are an offshoot due to interbreeding with aliens, which became the majority. Some artistic inconsistencies showed ancient Kree as pink which was an error. Ronan was also Pink in his first appearance in FF#64 then jumped back and forth between blue in Captain Marvel and Pink in Avengers for the next decade or so.
Interestingly enough, the Kree are now pretty much exclusively blue. There was a note in some supporting material in Annihilation that said all pinks had underwent a change and turned blue.
