Update on...MICROMAX
Update on...MICROMAX
This size-changing hero finally got his shot at the big time (get it?!?) when the X-Men held a vote to see who their newest members would be. Despite missing out, he was still able to prove his worth by teaming up with the other rejected candidates in stopping a terrorist at the Hellfire Gala. Re: Update on...MICROMAX
I've always though he had potential to be a decent character, he's even got a couple of impressive feats to his name, but for whatever reason he seems to be regarded as a joke by the few writers that have him in their stories.

Re: Update on...MICROMAX
What’s crazy is that the X-Men don’t have anyone with his type of power set. He would be a great addition to any team and provide a lot of visual fun on page.
Everybody is entitled you their opinion...but yours is wrong.

Re: Update on...MICROMAX
The only other (main universe) mutant megamorph is Tower, right? That powerset is even less common than omnimorphs.
Re: Update on...MICROMAX
Ms. Marvel can mimic his powerset to a certain degree.

Slab of the Nasty Boys is a mega morph, iirc. Not sure if Gentle counts. No idea where Greystone (time displaced XSE officer) ran off too. Remains to be seen if Liz Guthrie carries the x-Gene. But her 616 counterpart seems younger than the AoA version.

I was actually thinking that it would make sense that Thumbelina (Slab's sister) and Kidogo could learn to do it. It stands to reason that their powers would have to work in both directions. And Liz does always look younger, but she's actually older than Paige.

Re: Update on...MICROMAX
Hmm. Good to know. It’s possible that she’s one of the Guthrie’s who is not a mutant in the main reality. We’ve seen that Thumbelina is either able to grow in size or is a lot larger than we think (due to always having been in a shrunken state when we saw her in the past). She looked to be over 6 feet tall when she attended that meeting for mutants with body image issues. As for Lazaro, the official word from his creators…” Second, as to Kidogo, we figured his costume shrunk with him in the typical "unstable molecules" Marvel manner.sambadaemon wrote: 07 Jun 2024, 13:39 I was actually thinking that it would make sense that Thumbelina (Slab's sister) and Kidogo could learn to do it. But we didn't think anything else would shrink down with him, not other clothes or anything he carried…
As for plans, we wanted to have him struggle to control his power, which was locked to a specific height at the time, and eventually get enough control to get to the more typical (non Misfits of Science) ability to size change to various sizes. Not sure we'd have him be able to grow, though. Just shrink.
We didn't plan for him to get the "proportional strength" that comes with a lot of shrinking powers. To us, his power was much more about strategic use - get small, go places you couldn't get, and either cause chaos or scout for information.”
