Shard Bishop is the younger sister of her more famous brother, Lucas Bishop, a shadow she never quite managed to emerge from in-universe or out. In the X.S.E., Shard was a career officer focused on climbing the ranks in order to distinguish herself from Bishop's dedication to the streets. She died in a trap meant for Bishop, but her mind was preserved in a mnemonic hologram's programming. After Bishop arrived in the present, Shard's hologram gained enough independence to join X-Factor and operate separately from her brother. However, her last story arc reduced her to little more than a pawn in the rivalry between Bishop and Fitzroy. Shard chose to sacrifice herself to ensure Fitzroy's defeat, her energy form literally consumed by her brother's energy needs, bringing about a sudden and disappointing end to the character.

I wonder if Shard's time in the present as a photonic being qualifies her for resurrection. I always felt like the intent was to show that her present-day form was actually an evolution of her powers.
