Nuke was created for Frank Miller's universally renowned Daredevil arc, Born Again. Believed dead for years, he was resurrected as a grim counterpoint to Captain America and Wolverine, another victim of the Weapon Plus Program and Romulus's manipulations. A trouble but patriotic man at his core, Frank Simpson urge to "bring our boys home" was twisted by drugs and conditioning to make him perform atrocities on command in the name of the American Dream.

It's funny, I was literally thinking that Nuke was Captain Krakoa while reading the most recent issue of UXA, then on literally the next page I was proved wrong.
