Forum Move - prepare for Turbulence

Post by Dean Clayton »

We are moving the hosting for the forum today and as such at the time of posting this the site will be locked from updates.

once I've moved the site to the new hosting it will be open again (I'll update here as well) .

Hopefully it should be pretty seamless for most of you, but if you have issues after 24 hours, please get in touch.

see you on the other side!

and we are back!
couple of minor differences:
  • Logo slightly bigger
  • profile images now on the eight hand side
  • Oh and we support emojis as well : 😊🀣😁
may change these back to how it was, but thought we'd see what you think for now

Logo size is fine

Emoji support - must admit, I thought we had this already, as I'm sure I saw emojies outside of the forum's smilies, but maybe this was down to browser support rather than native forum support

Profile images on the right: Sorry, hate it...! It really confuses me, and brings to mind flashbacks of getting copy designs in Arabic or Hebrew with everything running contrary to usual expectations. This is a no for me

I deliberately moved the profiles to the right just for you @Spectral 🀣

I maybe able to give people the option of choosing , but there are a few things i need to make sure are all working first.

Side note, I'm not getting emails for board notifications. I'll look into that but if anyone else is getting them let me know

Try on mobile! It looks different now on my laptop but on my phone the forum still looks the same as it used to.

Yeah I hope we go back to avatars on the left (or at least optional). Makes more sense, start with WHO is talking then read WHAT they're saying, left to right.
