We end the holiday season with an update of one of the first mutants to be resurrected by the Krakoan Five, Pyro. While feeling special to be selected as the inaugural miracle, his feelings turned to disillusionment when he discovered he had been little more than a lab rat, being put through a test run. However, Pyro’s new lease on life allowed him to take a far different path as a “hero pirate” on the high seas, even if he made questionable life choices, such as a skull face tattoo. He made unlikely friendships with major mutant players like Storm, Bishop and Kate Pryde, while also combining his powers in interesting ways with Iceman and Lockheed. Even more hilarious, this mutant personifying the term YOLO, found major success as a trashy romance novel writer. Read about the redemptive path of Pyro, a mutant positively changed by the opportunities of Krakoa.
