Update On...MANIKIN

[Monolith]

One of the many Alpha Flight-related characters who fell into comic-book limbo following the cancellation of the original Alpha Flight series, the always interesting but under-utilized Dr. Whitman Knapp spent most of his time being nothing more than the boyfriend of the Purple Girl, or being fought over by the Purple Girl and Witchfire, who yearned for his attention. Manikin finally reappeared when his skills as a physician were needed by Dr. Jane Foster - Valkyrie - who assembled an elite group of super-powered medics to literally save Death. Don't worry, he handled weirder stuff with Alpha Flight (he even knows he's a comic book character!).
