Our third Spotlight Update in the Original Five is the man who started it all, Henry P. McCoy, the Beast! Hank made the desperate and dangerous decision to travel into the past and drag the O5 X-Men from mere weeks after the team formed into the present. Young Beast arguably had the most trouble finding his way in the future. He was forced into admitted his unrequited feelings for Jean Grey, fell hopelessly behind the curve of modern science, and almost lost himself trying vainly to master magic. It remains to be seen whether old Beast retains any connection to magical forces after regaining the memories of his time-looped younger self.
Beast is my favorite character and the second geneticist in a row! As someone partially inspired by the X-men to pursue science and genetics, these type of characters hold a special place in my heart. Given recent developments, I can't wait for the crazy Moira spotlight that will eventually come to complete the Geneticist triforce.
I'll have to closely examine the spotlight but I recently read that Beast is one of the rare X-men to never have died in the 616 continuity. I find that hard to believe.
Books to be excited for:
Immortal X-men, X-men Red, She-Hulk, The Fall of X

Beast is one of the few classic X-Men not to have had a major death. Iceman is in the same boat. There have been “event” deaths as listed in the death chart..ie Secret Wars, Infinity Gauntlet etc when the entire universe or huge groups of heroes get killed and immediately resurrected. But as far as an individual and “meaningful” death, then no he hasn’t.
Everybody is entitled you their opinion...but yours is wrong.
