Behold... The Vision!

Post by Dean Clayton »

Avengers personnel log: Captain America recording as active chairperson. The Vision is one of the most stalwart members of the Avengers, having served with the team throughout many incarnations, almost since the beginning. And yet many outside the team consider him one of the most enigmatic Avengers. As a synthezoid, his appearance and demeanor may seem off-putting to some, yet I have seen Vision in the field demonstrating the compassion and heroism of a true Avenger. I am proud to call him both friend and comrade.

Holy crap! You guys were serious? I thought this was a re-tread April Fools joke. Y’all must have a lot of time and energy to take on something this ambitious. Disney should buy your work and put y’all on payroll.

I'm so conflicted. This is amazing that you guys are taking this on, but it raises so many questions.

I thought maybe the Avengers spotlights would be on MightyAvengers.net with relevant X-character spotlights and summaries shared between the 2 sites. However, Vision is on UXN now. So will all Avengers content also be on UXN?

What constitutes Avengers material? Are all Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man series eventually going to be summarized or only the Avengers team books themselves?

Is Unstablemolecules the Forum for both sites?

Is Monolith an actual human being or some omnipotent comics knowledge deity?
Books to be excited for:

Content will be shared where appropriate (still a few initial teething issues but for at least April all avengers releases will be at least announced on uxn ), yes, yes, do you even need to ask?

@WWW:

It has been a decision many, many years in the making to proceed in this direction. We've actually planned to add Avengers to the site's content in the past on more than one occasion, then backed down. At this point, it feels as if we've finally reached a stage where we can do the idea justice.

Presently, the Avengers Event will be broadcast and hyped on UXN for the duration of the launch. Once the initial event is over, however, the Vision Spotlight and related Avenger-y but non-X material will be hosted solely on MightyA. We expect to continually cross-promote as the two sites continue, but they will be relatively separate after the opening ceremonies end.

"What constitutes Avengers material" will ultimately depend on you, the readers! Obviously, with the number of Avengers these days, the widest possible interpretation of Avengers material, summaries, and character entries is a massive floodgate. We will, at first, be focusing specifically on Avengers members, Avengers villains, issues with "Avengers" in the title, and so on.

It is absolutely our hope, however, that this new direction invites new recruits and contributors to UXN and MightyA who have their own patch of the Avengers Universe that they want to expand on. Cosmic fans? Spidey fans? MightyA will grow in the direction of our contributors, so who knows what the future holds!

(I am very tired. You have no idea yet. Thanks for asking.)

Brilliant development!

As an X-Men fan who has drifted further and further into the A canon, this is very exciting for me.

Where will characters with very close ties to both groups reside (Beast, Quicksilver, Wolverine)? Or will these be accessible from either site?

They will be accessible from both sites. In fact keep your eyes peeled for some long overdue updates on A/X characters as well as newer joint content.

Well a certain character is getting her own movie soon...

Now that I'm done with my nerd spasm I'm totally in. I can certainly see how it could attract more contributors. With the X-side, most of the more exciting summaries have been completed long ago, so unless you're a huge Deadpool fan with a lot of time on their hands, the options for series you are excited about can be limited.

Now the sky is the limit in terms of what one can write about. I already thought the new Champions series would be my next contribution and given that Kamala was an Avenger once, she could totally be a somewhat manageable Spotlight to tackle down the road. The older characters like Captain America are daunting tasks but the newer Avengers characters are ones that people newer to comics might actually have read every issue that they appear in.

While we're advertising Vision on UXN if you go into the Spotlight section he's not in there as he's a MA.net property :-). Like the others have said, we've got it well planned out what qualifies for UXN, what qualifies for both and what's MA.net only. There are a bunch of articles on UXN already that will eventually become shared properties 😀

I thought it was a prank too. I guess Carol's and Wanda's spotlights will finally be updated. Poor Carol is still stuck with the Ms. Marvel moniker. :D

And with the Avengers practically including every relevant character in the Marvel U, we will problem get spotlights for all them.

Count me in for "thought this was a long con prank" but screw it, I'm pumped! Between the two sites this is going to end up rivaling, and one day probably dwarfing, the marvel wikia.

I finally had enough time to read through the entire Spotlight. Great job! Vision is a character I was never really interested in, but I did want to know more about his life, especially the Scarlet Witch days. Thank you!
