Spotlight On... AI-APAEC!

Post by Dean Clayton »

As a fearsome south American spider god with snakes for hair, one would expect Ai Apaec to be a force to be reckoned with. But his reputation rarely lived up to his monstrous appearance. Always serving as a lackey, to Osborn, the Queen and even the US Government, this deity never lived up to his potential and eventually died small and insignificant, how he lived. Read now about the Dark Avenger... Ai Apaec!

An undignified end to a dumb character.

Thanks for the spotlight. Does that make 49 Avengers spotlights?

I don't think he was a dumb character. He had a freaky cool design and I love any crossover with folklore and mythology. But Dean's write up is accurate, that they squandered him, underused him, and gave him terrible storylines.

I agree he wasn't a dumb character. I loved Ai Apaec's snake haired psycho spider-centaur design and thought he had a lot of potential. Unfortunately they squandered him and worse they ditched his awesome design in favour of the six-armed black suit Spider-Man design

No discredit to the great write up that GF did.

I still personally think the character is lame, but I'm glad other people liked him.

In this case I guess I was just more referring to your post above, but I should have used a different word than "write up". The spotlight is very cool too.
