It's been a long journey and we've faced many trials and tribulations over the years but today, UncannyXMen.net finally turns 18 years old. In celebration of this occasion we turn our attention to the man who has been a father figure to many generations of younger mutants. Since we last visited him we have learned about many of his dark secrets from his past and watched as his students took over his mantle as leader of the X-Men. Read our updated spotlight on the life and death (and life again) of the X-Men's leader, teacher and father...PROFESSOR X
For those interested, we obviously have a lot of new content but also make sure to go back through his existing bio as there's new stuff in there too. Since we last updated him the X-office really lent on the "sins of the past" aspect of Xavier.
Everybody is entitled you their opinion...but yours is wrong.
I thought at first that you were ignoring the garbage fire of the Last Will and Testament like the rest of us but then found it in the Alternate Versions.
Great job everyone.
Books to be excited for:
Immortal X-men, X-men Red, She-Hulk, The Fall of X
Of all the retcons given to Xavier since the end of Claremont’s first run, I think I hate most that scene where he tells Tessa she’s to be a spy. Most of the retcons can be read or interpreted as Xavier making a tough choice, sometimes the wrong choice, but trying to do the right thing for the right reason. In that scene, he simply comes off as exploitative and malicious, especially since he’s telling her point-blank that she’s a dishonorable person of low character. Xavier has demonstrated a magnificent capacity to justify bad choices for honorable ends—I find that a credible read on his character from 1963-1991. But it really makes no sense that he’d offer such a manipulative and cynical justification for his choice regarding Tessa. That to me is inconsistent with how the character developed for his first 20 years. Not that he wouldn’t train her as a spy, but only that he’d think of it in honorable, high-minded terms and portray it as such to her.
I think it’s a bad retcon if you take Xavier as the character Clarmeont made through his stories and retcons but that OG xavier? It might fit maybe idk lol
From The Ashes Books I like: X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Exceptional X-Men, X-Force, Dazzler, and NYX…so far, so good.
