The X-Men have a lot of racist enemies, but Donald Pierce is an extreme case of escalation. Originally an amputee with bionic limbs, Pierce was vicious towards mutants but still worked with them as part of the Inner Circle. Over time, though, he broke completely from Sebastian Shaw and the Hellfire Club, forming his own cyborg army of mutant-hunting Reavers. Pierce has only bartered away more of his humanity over time, and has a bizarre charisma for convincing others to do the same. So long as Pierce is around, there will always be more Reavers. And since he is now effectively an electronically preserved consciousness untethered to a single body... Donald Pierce always WILL be around.
