Spotlight Update on...THUNDERBIRD III

Post by Monolith »

Today we have another quickfire update of a mutant that was out of the spotlight for nearly two decades. However, he answered the call for all X-Men when the need arose and stuck around for the new Krakoan era. His appearance may have been brief but it was established that Neal had an interest in corporate politics. He was also featured in one of mutantkind's newest and most powerful technologies called mutant circuits. While he may have failed to revolutionize the energy industry or make his mark on the corporate world, he did at least manage to get a small taste of the action he had been out of for so long. Read about the minor exploits of... Neal Shaara!

Neal's a character I have a weird fondness for. I wonder what things would look like if other writers had had taken more of a liking to him and other early 2000s recruits like Stacy X.

I think for some of them, why they had less appeal than New X-Men youths or later “new” additions was that I think he had the tinge of New CC on him (Stacy X had the Austen stink on her sadly). You can see that post-OG run CC creations are not as positively received as other writers 2000s or late 90s creations.
From The Ashes Books I like: X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Exceptional X-Men, X-Force, Dazzler, and NYX…so far, so good.

How do you walk into an interview with recommendations from two people as disparate as Bishop and Sunspot and have people not take you seriously? Lol.

Angel's girlfriend did leave him for Neal. This may have been Warren's sweet long term revenge.
Books to be excited for:
Immortal X-men, X-men Red, She-Hulk, The Fall of X

Chuck Austen did use Stacy X in a few issues, but he is also the one who wrote her out of the X-books. Stacy is a creation of Joe Casey.

I enjoyed part of X-Treme X-Men, but this is pretty much the last time I enjoyed Chris Claremont's work with the X-Men. Honestly Claremont did not flesh out characters like the Neo, the Crimson Pirates, the Goth, or the Shi'ar Death Commandos, which he was using in his 2000s stories. Characters with few individual traits.
