Profile On...POWERHOUSE

Post by Monolith »

This obscure villainess initially debuted in Spider-Man and was created by Erik Larsen of Savage Dragon fame in the early 90s with a handful of appearances. With a Magneto-like world view (humans bad, mutants good etc), she has fought against Spider-Man, Wolverine, Beast and Captain Marvel, all with the intention of freeing mutant kind from oppression. Read about the mutant known as… Powerhouse!

Quick question - the last section refers to a story that is credited as appearing in Spider-Man Unlimited 2nd series #4, but looks like this was actually Volume 3.

(The 2nd series or volume 2 was the comics run accompanying the same titled cartoon series of the late 90s)

Yeah, cartoon adaptations, reprints, or out-of-universe comics just exist outside the Marvel Universe, and wouldn't be incorporated into the Volume numberings.

So...Exiles (1st series) is Blink's team, not the Malibu Comics Exiles retroactively added to Marvel canon. Or, the M-Tech series is Warlock (3rd series), after the two previous Adam Warlock titles, not Warlock (5th series) because Adam Warlock had two limited series named "Warlock" which were only reprint titles.

For the present case, having the only series related to Spider-Man Unlimited the TV series known as "Spider-Man Unlimited Vol. 2" is just confusing for people who have heard of it and people who haven't. It's just its own, totally distinct, thing.

Fair enough, I get that rationale. Only thought I'd mention it as I was confused when looking up that issue and getting the cartoon series in search results

Should have known you'd have already considered this !
