In the aftermath of Operation Zero Tolerance, the X-Men picked up a bunch of new recruits, a number of which had some truely horrifying mutations. What’s interesting about this time period is that for all the “X-Men keep facing extinction” thingy people said about the team between M-Day and basically HoX/PoX, alot of the period between Onslaught till maybe the Twelve or even Morrison’s revamp gave you the feeling that mutants were losing and about to be erased. It wasn’t as all mutants as the other period but it definitely felt like the X-Men themselves were on the brink. Or was it just me?

This is where I started reading xmen comics so I always have soft spot for this period. Nice update.
