This was the year everything changed. Seriously, this time. The mutant race finally grew tired of being hated and feared. After facing the return of O*N*E and efforts to vaccinate their species into suppression at a genetic level, the mutants forged their own path. Charles Xavier and Magneto founded a mutant nation on the living island of Krakoa, making it a home for all mutants. Revolutionary pharmaceuticals grown from Krakoan soil led to diplomatic favors, recognition by the United Nations, and citizenship and amnesty for all mutants. Hickman's era on the X-Titles began with House of X and Powers of X, kicking off the game-changing run that continues to this day.
