The Wager of the Octessence was a pact among the mystical entities of Marvel to prove who was most powerful. It was also an opportunity to create new characters linked to the various names Doctor Strange liked to yell out, besides Juggernaut and his patron Cyttorak. Sadly, the Exemplars failed to take off individually, or as a group. After a few encounters with Avengers, the Exemplars have mostly disappeared into obscurity ever since, and Juggernaut remains the de facto winner of the Wager. After all, gods are powered by worship, and how many of you have even heard of Balthakk?
