ENIGMA & DOMINION THEORY

Post by Monolith »

A Dominion is the final stage of species and civilization development pitched by Hickman in his Powers of X series. Achieving a level of information density so great that it collapses space-time around it, Dominions are effectively God-level intelligences linked through an extra-dimensional network of nodes in the black holes populating our universe. Awesome and terrifying, the saving grace of most Dominions is their interests are so far beyond ours that they show little concern for human events. This is what made the Enigma so existentially dangerous...a Dominion guided by the artificially preserved mind of Nathaniel Essex, incalculable cosmic power ruled by the petty personal concerns of one unevolved human psyche. Engima was so threatening that the Beyonders destroyed the entire multiverse in an attempt at stopping it...and failed. Today's article explores Dominions as a whole before focusing on the rogue trickster that brought an end to the Age of Krakoa.

In a perfect world, Denis Villenuve (sp) would direct the story of Essex as a big budget miniseries on HBO and it would be a five part sensation!
From The Ashes Books I like: X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Exceptional X-Men, X-Force, Dazzler, and NYX…so far, so good.
