Update On...MISTER SINISTER

Post by Monolith »

Last updated when the Hellions series ended, we could never have expected what the second half of the Age of Krakoa had in store for Nathaniel Essex. Four different versions of Essex were active in the world, of which Mister Sinister was only one. The Dominion storyline explored and recontextualized the motivations of Essex since he was first transformed by Apocalypse. Mister Sinister was still the first form Essex took, and a continuation of his original interest in "Essex-Men" mutations. Despite the failures and loss of purpose he suffered by the time Enigma rose, however, Sinister proved he was literally, genetically, incapable of character growth, and will return to harass the X-Men again in the future.

I don’t care what anyone says Ewing/Gillen’s retcon/expansion of the Sinister mythos is my favorite byproduct of the Krakoan Era. It’s the most obvious to do but also the most fun and clever.
From The Ashes Books I like: X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Exceptional X-Men, X-Force, Dazzler, and NYX…so far, so good.
