Spotlight Update On...CYPHER!

When we first published this spotlight in 2009 this young man had spent more time dead than alive. Not long after he was one of the many mutants to be brought back by Selene, only he stuck around afterwards, unlike so many others. Whilst his powerset was often joked about in the 80's, the modern era has shown him to be an instrumental and adaptive mutant, so much so that he has positioned himself as one of the key mutants on Krakoa. For those interested, his original spotlight ended at the end of page 2 with his death in New Mutants. We have tripled the size of his spotlight in this update. There's few B/C/D list characters who I would say have been championed as much as Cypher over the past 15 years, Magik being another strong contender. A lot of writers expressed how much they like him, and his powers work so well in a modern setting. His powerplays on Krakoa have been awesome to watch and he was totally the MVP of the Inferno series.
