Don't call her Hawkgirl, Hawkette, or Katie. Kate Bishop is Hawkeye regardless of the existence of Hawkguy. Inspired by Clint Barton as a child, Kate resolved to be awesome despite not having any superpowers. Her family wealth and skills with a bow and arrow helped her gain a spot on the Young Avengers where she quickly demonstrated capable leadership skills. Captain America himself gave Kate the deceased Clint Barton's bow and codename but Kate refused to give it back to the man when he returned from the dead. Instead, the two Hawkeyes teamed up as one of the most celebrated dynamic duos in modern comics. Eventually, Kate needed to flourish on her own and so became a private detective (unlicensed) in Los Angeles to pay the bills. However, her father cutting her off from the family money turned out to be one of the less evil deeds for which he was responsible and solving her family's mysteries became a top priority for Kate and her newfound LA friends. Now with a live action version of Kate in the MCU it is only a matter of time before she and the other Young Avengers assemble yet again. Read the history of the amazing Hawkeye III!

I think it’s understated how much and how prominent some of these newer characters have become over time. I mean in some regards, Kate has surpassed Clint in terms of prominence.
