ASSASSINS GUILD - VILLAIN ENTRY

The Assassins Guild of New Orleans were for generations a cultivated bloodline of families in the service of the External benefactress Candra and the business of murder-for-hire. They were the eternal counterpart to the Thieves Guild, and the conflict between the two guilds played a major part in early Gambit-centric stories from the 1990's. Gambit's ex-wife Bella Donna Boudreaux was the hereditary leader of the Assassins and, under her leadership, the guild opened up to hiring freelancers and mercenaries to fulfill their contacts. Outside of Gambit, the Assassins Guild has nursed vendettas against Deadpool and Wolverine & X-Force, often to their detriment. Despite their fearsome reputation, the Guild has never proven truly competitive in the field of superhuman threats and targets. Maybe they should stick to overweight businessmen who pissed off the wrong associate.
