When Hope Summers' mutation signaled the beginning of the end of the Decimation, the first new mutants who appeared on Cerebro were known as the Five Lights. Gabriel Cohuelo was the Second Light, whose time-shifting abilities gave him the illusion of great speed, but at the cost of accelerating his aging process. Acutely aware he was living on borrowed time, VELOCIDAD could appear reckless or selfish when he seized any opportunity he could before his time was up. He reached incredible old age as the O*N*E exploited his powers for their own benefit, and Gabe was mercy-killed by Wolverine to end his suffering. It remains to be seen whether Krakoa's Resurrection Five and "optimum aging" condition for new husks can benefit Velocidad in the long run.
