The power of the Five is truly miraculous, and their resurrections are only possible thanks to the unique, synergistic interaction of their abilities. This communion is accomplished through the power of the Omega-class mutant messiah, Hope Summers. Forced into existence by the Phoenix Force as a counter-measure against the Decimation spell, the birth of Hope helped reignite the mutant race in its darkest hours. Hope was raised to new adulthood in the far future, returning to the present for her powers to fully manifest mere months after her birth. Hope and the Phoenix finally merged to end the Decimation, but she also retained a unique connection to the mutant race as a whole, able to enhance and integrate the Five's abilities to achieve their wonderous feats.

A worthy spotlight for #350. Thanks for the article.

While reading I started to wonder if maybe Hope's power was somehow connected to Rogue. Maybe Destiny foresaw that Hope needed to make contact with Rogue in order to awaken Hope's more powerful version of power mimicry and save mutant kind. Perhaps even seeing as far ahead as Hope's necessity for the Five.

The theory is a bit of a stretch, but it could be interesting if Destiny comes back and claims credit for orchestrating Hope getting that specific power set somehow.

She had a lot of history given she’s only been around for about 10 years.
I think I enjoyed the X-Force series where she was turned into MeMe. It’s always difficult for event characters to find a role after their initial purpose is resolved. Layla Miller did well and it seems Hope has the power to last.
