Profile on... FERON
Because NO ONE demanded it! UXN is proud to present our Spotlight on the last remaining member of the classic Excalibur team yet to feature on our site. This pale, arrogant brat though he was supposed to be host to the Phoenix Force - and boy did he cause some trouble for Excalibur! But while most of the team barely took an interest in him, one reformed brat eventually began to reach out. Then he was cut from the series in an attempt to align the book closer to the other X-titles. He then vanished and later jumped out of a cake. Read all about the strange adventures of FERON.

Re: Profile on... FERON
I admit I didn't demand it but I'll enjoy it. Love the obscure oddball characters.

I always enjoy learning about characters I know very little about. I knew next to nothing about Feron, beyond the fact he was in Excalibur for a bit and he kinda looked like Neil Gaiman.

Thanks for the profile. I love it when an original team is "complete." UXN is relatively close to having articles for every character that has been on a major X-team.
Books to be excited for:
Immortal X-men, X-men Red, She-Hulk, The Fall of X

@GF: Well, now I can't unsee it. Maybe he's the eighth Endless? Disappointment?
@WWW: What characters do you see that are still missing? I'm curious how your list might match up with ours.

Re: Profile on... FERON
Well I like lists and you asked for it:
These are the major main X-team members missing in my opinion: Total = 11-12 depending on if you combine the Xorns.
Moira MacTaggert (X-men/Excalibur associate)
X-men
Stacy X
Xorn Brothers
Fantomex (and EVA?)
Darwin
Hepzibah
Hope Summers
Old Man Logan
X-factor
Shard
X-force
Feral
Generation X
Hollow (you have already said your opinion on this character)
Additionally as UXN always seems to over deliver, I assumed these side characters may someday get profiles given their unofficial/newer status with various teams. I won't list out all of the student characters as UXN has only recently started releasing spotlights on them.
Scout - X-men Red
Trinary - X-men Red
Pyro II - X-men Gold
Ink - X-men Gold
Gazing Nightshade - X-men Blue
Wraith - Genosha X-men
Forget-Me-Not - X-men/X-force
Deathlok Prime - X-force
Random - X-factor
Archer, Fixx, and Greystone - X-factor
Artie and Leech - X-factor/Gen X
Pip the Troll - X-factor
Georgia Decai - X-factor
Alysande and Alistair Stuart - Excalibur
Omega (Michael Pointer) - Dark X-men
Dark Beast - Dark X-men/Imposter
The side teams that have mostly been completed:
Alpha Flight
Windshear
Earthmover
Flex
Persuasion
Pathway and Goblyn
Exiles
Sunfire - Mariko
Namora
Beak
Starjammers
Ch'od
X-Statix
Most of them
Some characters I don't know would ever get profiles but are listed as official members of teams:
Widget - Excalibur
Prosh - X-factor
EVA - X-force
Cerebra - X-men Gold
Sasquatch II - Alpha Flight
Magik - Exiles
Most of the Exiles members starting with Claremont
Overall UXN has fantastic coverage of most of the X-men universe. I'd say the Younger Student characters and X-Statix have the largest amount of missing characters, but the other pockets of the X-verse are largely filled. By the way, I'd be willing to maybe work on some X-Statix content if the opportunity is available.

Lol well, you'll definitely be happy with some of the articles we have in progress, and surprised by a few others.
Technically, we do have the Xorn Xplained article in Merged Minds, although not truly a Spotlight. And, while the article is 14 years old, the confusion over Quan-Yin Xorn and Shen Xorn remains today. Hickman has shown some interest in the Xorn brothers, so we're certainly hoping for a deeper explanation for them before a Spotlight emerges. Xorn Xplained would likely then be used as a starting point, reworking it into a character article.
Ditto for Fantomex, really. He was actually intended for the Wolverine event years back, only for X-Force to separate him into three different characters right as we were preparing the event. "Surely this would be explained or wrapped up soon", we thought, only to sit here 8 years later and even more confused. Not only were the other two Fantomexes basically forgotten, but now Weapon XIII has died and come back to life without explanation, with a Giant-Size special that made his history even more confusing!
The Academy X characters have been a tragedy of oversaturation and missed opportunities, unfortunately. We try not to cover the same ground too often with our articles, and here were two dozen characters fighting for screen-time in the same book! And despite being over 15 years old now and having devoted personal fanbases, very few Academy X era students have really stood the test of time. Remember when Surge was an X-Men field leader in charge of her whole generation, and then proceeded to do nothing for 10 years? When was the last time she even spoke on-panel? Then Pixie was the hot new thing...only to fade into the background as well. So Spotlights on some of these characters are a disheartening prospect when it means combing through years of back material where the character "appears" but does nothing of note.
But yes, absolutely, if you have an interest in writing X-Statix articles, drop us a line. PM either me or Douglas and we'll see what we can work out!

Re: Profile on... FERON
Somewhere in the world is that one person who will eagerly write profiles of all of Claremont's Exiles characters. And when that person presents themselves the end of days will commence...
Re: Profile on... FERON
I happen to love Feron. Whenever I played him in the Betrayal Game, I was always killed first. He's a fun little brat. Thanks for the article.
