Spotlight on... QUAKE

Post by Douglas Mangum »

Debuting during Bendis' Secret War miniseries, which launched his run on New Avengers, Daisy Johnson was part of the next generation of S.H.I.E.L.D. A devout loyalist to Nick Fury, Daisy went AWOL for a time to serve her country in the shadows before rising to become nominee as the next director of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Fury's place. Daisy ultimately learned too much from Fury, however, and her maverick tactics led to Daisy being removed from office. She eventually returned to S.H.I.E.L.D., but her hardheaded determination to do what she thought was right would keep her out of the big chair in the future. Seeking her own place in the world now that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been disbanded, Quake has yet to find her footing in the new world order.

Don’t know, never liked her. Not in the comics, not on TV.
I think she was also the forerunner for that generic one-for-all short hairstyle for women.

Btw, it took me lord knows how long to realize it’s Mangum, and not Magnum.

Question: isn’t she a member of the current Force Works team too? In that Iran Man 2020 storyline about the Robot Nation.

^^^^
Those questions might be better asked in the factual section or possibly should be covered in spoilers since it’s ongoing.
From The Ashes Books I like: X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Exceptional X-Men, X-Force, Dazzler, and NYX…so far, so good.

Yes, Anarchist is still available for you in the next draft round.

Joking aside (for this moment), I thought it’s official since the first announcement months ago that she is part of the team.
That’s the reason I asked that Yes or No answerable question. :D

BC, Aeon's questions are perfectly natural and permissible. Force Works 2020 #1 came out a couple weeks ago, so there's no worry about spoilers. Asking about why some specific character related content isn't in a Spotlight ON the Spotlight announcement thread is exactly where it should happen.

Aeon, since these Spotlights are often prepared weeks, even months in advance of publication, we can't always prepare for the most up-to-the-minute information on characters. Also, we have a general policy not to end Spotlights on a dangling plot thread from current comics. We don't know how this Force Works 2020 arc will end, and since it can be literally years until we get back to updating articles, we try not to "date" them any more than necessary by ending on a cliffhanger.

Anna, you're bad, and you should feel bad. ;-p

And she used to look like Angelina Jolie circa Hackers. NEVER FORGET!..... I love that movie as a guilty pleasure.

Seriously though, great pick for a spotlight. Am happy to read it.

Yes, I am neither a private investigator from Hawaii, nor a large pistol.

Do not feel too bad. I've gotten this my whole life. When I give my e-mail out at work, I say "Man as in mankind, gum as in chewing gum." People still get it wrong.
