Crossover entry on...SCHISM!

Post by Gremlin »

Like most superhero teams, the X-Men are no strangers to infighting, but this crossover took that to an all new level. Cyclops and Wolverine had been teammates and rivals for many years, but the differences between them both would come to a bloody head when their home of Utopia was faced with an unbeatable enemy. Divided over what to do, the two men battled it out until they were forced to go their separate ways. The aftermath saw the X-Men split in two for a number of years, but here you can read where it all began in our crossover entry on...SCHISM!

I’m confused. Is Xavier alive or dead during this story? It says Cyclops took the X-Men to San Fran then Utopia after he died, but then the prelude to Schism says one issue is about Xavier’s mindset.

And this is a different “death” than when Cyclops killed him, right?

Ahh yes, I can see where the confusion comes in. Xavier was seemingly killed at the end of Messiah Complex, but he was saved by Exodus. Everyone else thought he was dead and so the X-Men relocated to San Fran. Then a while later Xavier revealed himself to be alive again. I'll tweak the text to clear it up.

Ah, thanks. I’m pretty fuzzy on the period post-Decimation.
