BATTLE OF THE ATOM

Post by Gremlin »

When the Original 5 X-Men were brought from the past to the present it seemed they would only be around a short-while, but six years later and they're still here. With Marvel's Extermination event coming it seems their time may finally be up. Let us not forget though that this isn't the first time someone has tried to send them back home. Shortly after they arrived, mutants came from the future claiming that the O5 needed to go back home or there would be dire consequences. What happened next was a confusing race against X-Men and Brotherhood from various time periods to unravel the mystery. Read now our latest crossover entry that marked the 50th Anniversary of Marvel's Merry Mutants with...The Battle of the Atom crossover

I collected this crossover and it seemed like a great idea but wasn't executed to it's fullest potential. But with the way you summarized it beautifully it makes me glad to have true dedicated fans like the UXN staff who can help make anything X-Related shine!!

Typo in the very last sentence. It’s “Molly” Hayes, not “Holly” Hayes.

Nice spot.

This was a tricky one to given how many duplicate versions of characters there were from different time periods and we didn't know who the real X-Men were at one point. As a way of marking the X-Men's 50th year this wasn't the best crossover, but at least it had the trademark essence of confusing timelines, random alternate children and danglers that will never be followed up on.

Unfortunately, it also had characters with inscrutable and nonsensical motives, arbitrary reversals, and plot elements that went nowhere and withered into nothing.

Y’all did a good job of writIng up one of the biggest pieces of garbage ever put out by the X-office; reading your summary, it almost seems to hang together.
