New Mutants Month: The Demon Bear

As we continue our New Mutant theme month we come to one of the strangest adversaries the New Mutants ever faced. An entity routed in sorcery, it critically wounded Dani Moonstar, forcing the rest of the team to try and destroy it. It would go on to plague various other x-teams over the years, each time revealing a little more about its true nature. I didn't know much about this dude's origins but it's kind of fascinating. Claremont and Marvel really had a thing for Native American mythology, its odd how they all seemed to be warped into villains though. (Demon Bear, Adversary, Wendigo, etc.)

Well the Thunderbird was featured in X-Men: Chaos War. It wasn’t explicitly shown but it was acting as a force of good.

Oh i agree...yeah I can only think outside the x-books where it isn’t the norm. But if you think about it, only a small number of Norse and Roman Gods are every consistently heroes, almost every other pantheon is either negligible or evil lol
