Wolverine #6

Post by Blackcyclops » 07 Oct 2020, 11:01

Damn Percy just writes a good Wolverine...

If you aren’t a fan of Logan solo’s then you could maybe even skip this chapter. But if you like the dogged, contemplative-ronin version of Logan than this book scratches every itch.

I also am intrigued by Solem. Also, the OG Silver Samurai is back and we get words from Mariko...she was last seen in Old Man Logan’s book right?

I really enjoyed this. I’m not as well-versed in Logan’s solo stuff as other people here are, so perhaps for those of you who were along for the ride of the original Muramasa story, this felt a lot like repetition, but I really appreciated the explanations and the detail on previous storylines here. The art was great, the story was great, I think the only thing that bothers me is...

That I have to talk about X-Force #13 separately because it’s a critique of THAT story.

BETRAYAL COUNT:
Spoiler: show
Solem having betrayed War. He seems very much a character that’s only out for himself and I actually feel like this selfishness makes him a great foil for Logan going forward

No, I think it was a great way to reintroduce stuff and plus we got, what I felt like, a great moment with Logan and Mariko. It was small but in terms of their history and Logan’s arc, it was kinda great.

I love that the writers remembered that Mariko is the Scarlet Samurai now. I thought that was probably the best development to come out of OML.

I agree that this looked nice and got the atmosphere right, so it was pleasant to read in that regard. But also very little story and eminently skippable.

I really liked the atmosphere of this comic ... Hell, the apocalyptic horsemen, the skeleton with adamantium claws ... all in a very Sandman style ... I think Percy carries his part of the story very well.

Wolverine is one of the X-Titles I can't wait to read every month. Ben Percy is a good writer and writes a solid Logan.
