Percy: "Fine, I'll go make my own Sins of Sinister! With Beast-Gods and a Wolverine Futurama-style head jar that can only say SNIKT!"

Oooph. This was poor, even by X-Force’s usually low bar

Now I’m scared to check it out…on one hand I gave up this title because I wasn’t a fan. But on the other, I saw how high Cable placed the book and saw how low Magnus placed it and given how me and Cable usually agree and me and Magnus almost always disagree, I considered jumping back in…but these two posts make me very skeptical lol
So on one hand we have the existence of a being who can reset the entire timeline, destroying everything…, and on the other hand we have a few mind wipes and some gaslighting. You're right, totally evenly weighted.

What the actual f*** was this. The Wolverine MODOK was ridiculous. Other characters exist, Percy! I'm sorry but I just...man this title just feels to me like it's written by a 14 year old boy all the time. QQ was somewhat growing on me for a while, but his X-Force persona is grating and having him be elderly is even more annoying. Also, his hair isn't actually pink? He dyes it? So why is his beard and hair pink in the future?

What’s funny is that when I saw the picture of Old Man Quire, that was like the one thing that made me laugh because I imagined him being just vain enough to take the time to dye his beard pink lol
Well okay, is anyone going to defend the issue? Because so far its looking like I should stay away and not jump back in. I was hoping that with a new roster (I do like the idea of getting more Omega Red) this would be a good fresh start.

I think one of Quire's ridiculous resurrection requests to the Five was to make his hair naturally pink.

Yep. He made it naturally pink, then rose gold, then back to pink.
I really wanna blow your mind
but I haven't got the time.

Re: X-Force #40
My high ranking is not based on recency lol. The problem with X-Force/Wolverine (the books are barely different) is that the corrupted Beast story has simply gone on too long. It almost feels like Percy didn't expect the title to go this long (I don't think anyone expected it to go this long!) and instead of ending that central plot and moving to another he just keeps padding it out further and further. It is crazy to now see him triple down on it with this arc! The alternate versions at least make it feel somewhat fresh, but it isn't ideal.Blackcyclops wrote: ↑18 May 2023, 14:49Now I’m scared to check it out…on one hand I gave up this title because I wasn’t a fan. Something of note not mentioned in the spoilers, we do get an explanation here of why Quire cannot now be resurrected. When he destroyed Cerebrax in an explosion he converged with it and gained the ability to access the timeline of the future. He extracted himself from the present to investigate a threat he saw there, and he intentionally wiped himself from the cradles because he did not want himself replicated after he left.

Re: X-Force #40
Another thing this particular issue made me realize is that too many X-titles have done time travel stuff in the last couple years. Like I know it's a staple of the books, but usually we'd get a time travel/alt U story once every couple years. We've had SoS, X Lives/Deaths, HoX/Pox, the Threshold story, this one. Bishop got sucked into an alt U for War College. I even feel like I'm missing something. Too much time travel! I want them to get a little creative outside of just having people going into the future or past all the freaking time just to change something about a character they could've done numerous other ways. It's especially irritating when this and the Threshold story are, imho, bad.
