X-FACTOR by Leah Williams and David Baldéon

Found some news out about the X-Men, Avengers, Batman or even? The monthly previews have been released ? Or perhaps there's a rumour you've heard, then post it here for the world to see.

Looking at this, I'm now realizing that Nightcrawler has been just completely absent from any team. He shows up for maybe a line or two and then is gone forever after.

I am interested in Polaris being on the team as she is developing a serious hostility towards humans...

She's shown some hostility towards humans for a while now.

For pity's sake, I have hostility toward humans and the only machine they've ever invented to destroy me personally was the internet.

This is the defining quote of the Hickman Era

Agreed! The internet is like the real life equivalent of the Sentinels!

That's probably true to be honest...

I am actually excited by this book and can't wait for it...

I'm exciting for it. It has a roster I'm interested in.

I'm excited for the roster and even a bit by the premise but less so by the writer. The only thing I read made by her was that "baking sheet joke" title the x-tremists. That was awful. Not only the jokes weren't funny, they tended to undermine a really good and serious premise. I get that might be part of the intention (even the secret fascist police are made of just people) but it cheapened the whole thing. I really hope she adopts another "voice" for this title. If they are investigating deaths (a significant part of which are probably going to be hate crimes), it should be dealt with some gravitas. Plus, most of these characters wouldn't fit such jokes. It's actually a pretty serious roster when you think about it. Eye-boy might be the most light-hearted character and he hasn't been shown as particularly funny either.

Did you read Emma Frost Black issue? It was written by her and i would say that it was very, very good and not humorous in any way. Also, her Magik What if and Doctor Strange Then End have been very good, and they are both connected, and also not humorous. The last Gwen Pool was very good to me, but that was actually ho¿umorus.

I agree about not linking her Extremists mini that much, but i think it was probably the art and they doing paperwork for a surprising amount of time, but it had some very special moments every issue, like Blob talking about her feelings for Betsy, and Betsy talking about her body issues, that made so much sense to me, so if anything i would say that she went deep into the psyche of some characters, but the overall execution wasnt there.

@Manuel
I never read those other titles. I knew she wrote Gwenpool and that didn't inspire me with confidence either. Glad to know the writer has a bit more range. Hopefully we'll get a title that goes more in that direction. Nothing wrong with humorous books but at times they don't fit with the theme. That's one of my major problems with Marauders as well. That book is much better for me when they get slightly more serious.

She wrote the 3 part Giant-Man tie in for War of the Realms. It was like a comic version of „Stand by me“ where 4 guys went in a road trip. Everyone got his own unique voice, and I liked it how Atlas was the heart of the group.

Yeah the Gwenpool was good and I think humorous books get a bad wrap because people want to be all “ooooo dark and serious is smart”...

Like Aeon I adored that Giant-Men tie-in which had jokes but was incredibly endearing and fun. So if she brings that same energy here, I’ll love the book.

I really recommend that. It’s incredible how Williams handles 4 characters with the same powers so differently.
