Green gloves with white trim, that's Rogue's signature. And the cape attached with two round gemstones on the upper chest reminds me of Storm's costume in the nineties. The red skinned Nightcralwer is clearly shown with Gambit's red eyes here. I'm more and more convinced that these are amalgamated characters, or characters with grafted powers based on the X-Men's.

I like the name Steelmagik for the woman, and would like to suggest calling the other two Rogneto and Nightgambler.

Glad to see Monet again. So, hopefully it means she won't just be a one-chapter addition & will continue to play alongside the big names. Even better she's doing it with Husk (confirmed via twitter). Both ladies could use more attention, and Hickman giving them some spotlight could be what they need to be get launched into the A-list category.

The POX 4 and 5 covers.

On an off-note, Silva draws a very badass-looking and quite sexy Sinister. lol He also may have something to do with the spliced-looking characters we're seeing. Someone else brought up this theory, and they may have something there.

Emma & Mystique are oddly absent from the covers here, so I wonder what they may be up to.

In any case, looking forward to HOX and POX. I've had very little to be excited about since ResurrXion started. lol

Also, credible source gives praise after getting the chance to read HOX #1 early.

Has Husk been part of anything since she went crazy in Wolverine and the X-Men? I swear she was seen once or twice since, but I can't think of anything.

They're featured quite prominently on the POX #2 cover, and show up on the HOX #2 cover as well, so they'll likely be around. Mystique is also in the panel of Sabretooth shown.

Good call, does look similar to Polaris' all-green uniforms.

After seeing the previews for the "most important scene in X-Men history" in the comics today, I really wonder who that girl in the middle of the hexagon HOX #2 cover is. Rogue or Kitty clones that have been spliced with different powers?

Comparisons to Morrison are warranted
So...what I didn't want. Why do I continue to buy things I don't really want just because they put an X on the front?

Ugh. Don't remind me about Mystique being anywhere near Sabretooth. Those two together considerably dragged down my hype for POX. I'm tempted to skip issues 2 & 3 where they may be. lol

Isn't it Moira? That's who most people assumed her to be when the first promo image was released, but maybe that was due to her sittig next to Xavier on the bench in the center.

As neither drawing has her with a white streak in her hair, it's surely not Rogue.

As a Morrison fanboy, I'm kinda stoked. I've also really been into what Hickman has done so far.

I’m not a Morrison fan per say (I liked some of his X-Men, loved Allstar Supes, disliked his Batman and abhorred Final crisis) but love all things Hickman...hell I even like Snyder’s current JL cause he’s basically doing his Hickman imitation

It could be comparisons just in the sense that its a big epic tale, that will revamp the X-Universe, not necessarily that it will be a copy of Morrison's work. Hickman and Morrison aren't really all that similar in my mind, except that their work both tends to be heavily science based.

Yeah Morrison’s style is all about deconstruction, symbols and archetypes...whereas Hickman likes to use high/minded science concepts to talk about the struggle between hope and hopelessness. He takes a more grounded (ie humanist) approach, while Morrison views things more from 50,000 feet up.

Loved Hickman's run on Avengers, still tripping about it, I've pages of personal notes trying to connect all the elements..
Can't wait to be blown away and for the mutants to have a coherent direction.

Yeah, that's the part I'm worried about though. Like, I'm sure it's going to be fine, but nothing about this excites me except maybe Husk appearing on the cover of an issue.

Marvel has tried the traditionalist, back to basics approach, to the point of literally bringing the 05 to the present, having Wolverine take the Professor X role, and then have a writer trying to copy exactly what Claremont did (Guggenheim). Didn't really work...

Well, I'll always have my back issues. Though the O5 coming to the present wouldn't be "traditional" in any sense of the word and well, Guggenheim is gonna Guggenheim. I'm sure he's talented, he wouldn't have the job otherwise, but he did the same things in X-Men that he did in Arrow. If you put out poor content then nothing you throw at it is going to work.

I'm not sure Marvel should be throwing the baby out with the bathwater because of some poor effort attempts. I honestly think Jason Aaron's run on WatX was a fantastic rendition of classic X-Men fare that still told new stories.

Hickman is a talented writer and I've no doubt what he will put out will be GOOD, but I'm not sure it will be FOR ME. There are plenty of talented writers who have put out content I enjoy that I'd be just as hesitant taking over the flagship of the X-Men.

Yeah to be honest, as much as I didn’t like it, I would never call Bendis’s run as “traditionalist” and the entire Messiah Trilogy and the Schism to AvX eras were also not really traditionalist...now there’s no doubt that Guggenheims Era was trying it’s best to imitate Claremont though.

I love Hickman’s work but I could see how it might not be for everyone pretty easily. X-books are soaps and Hickman doesn’t do soap very well.

Fair enough, but the one thing the franchise right now is something drastically different, since people lost interest.

Also, Hickman said there will be some books that are more traditional superhero fare.

I mean he won’t be writing all the books after HoX/PoX so that’s a good sign for things.

More than the genre it’ll be the soapy-esque elements that might be missing from Hickman’s two series. You can dissect CC alot of ways but he always had a layer of fun melodrama over the x-stories that keep them alittle pulpy and lighten otherwise dire straits. Guggs tried it in X-Men Gold but to no avail...

I’m just fascinated that Marvel has kept so much of the story under wraps that I really have no true idea what the two books will be about. I like that.
