Top notch art talent in this too...I know some people dislike Red’s art but I love Asrar. And that artist on Weapon X is soooo much better than Land.

From X-Men...200 I think? I loved that cover. Every single official X-Man ever. Great.

I don’t like Finch’s gritty art style. Same reason I like the Schism posters better or those X-Men Legacy homage covers (loved those)..it’s not the content but the artist.

With you, BC. I loved that it had every X-Man on it, that was amazing, but I don't like his art. I mean the women's legs were all tree trunks and then they have itty bitty heads with the same exact face on everyone of the same sex.

But it was epic in scope. I do think this one is great, but there's a lot of people missing AND Idie looks like the artist may have thought she is a boy.

Yeah there’s some fun character stuff going on here that people might not notice on first viewing...

ANd I still really liked the Schism-era poster and those homage X-Men legacy covers alot too...

First of all: That image is BOMB. I mean, they ruined it with the big disjointed X, but otherwise BOMB.

Even with the X across it, it’s still a jarring and pretty dope pic...better than that Finch cover from years back.

Don't they X-Men need to be assembled first?
This was my first thought too, but maybe the arc title actually relates to this as they are pretty much disassembled right now and Uncanny X-Men seems to be a back to basics assembling and fixing the franchise.

I think the promotional art is just that, there are lots of absences here, some of them are just messing with my head.

From the New Mutants (original, recruits and current) I see Moonstar is nowhere to be seen, neither Karma or Warlock. Rictor, Syrin, Guido (from the last limited), X-man or 616 Blink neither.
Then Cable and Wolverine are missing too, and thats quite important.
From other X-titles Danger, Magneto, Monet, Chamber, Doop, Sabertooth and all his Weapon X-Force comrades but Domino (Omega Red, Mystique, Lady Deathstrike) are missing as well.
And from the X-Recruits/Students/New X-men we have a large amount of them in the promo but some absences like the Cuckoos, Quentin Quire, Indra, Loa, Greymalkin, No Girl, Ernst, Glob Herman, Bling, Morph, Hijack, Tempus and Blindfold.

Also interesting they are not teasing us with any blacked out character (in example, teasing us with Cyclops) or including Fantomex/X neither.

Re: Cable and Wolverine

We don’t know what Wolverines status quo will be yet, there’s a good chance he won’t be joining the X-Men

Cable obviously refused to join the photo shoot because Bishop was there.

Or those missing characters are irrelevant to the story? It’s possible...

Although i like ev82’s explanation for Cable tho lol

Jean: He who? I’ve kind of missed a lot.
Cable: Bishop.
Jean: Oh yeah, he’s here now.

Jean: Come on, I’m sure whatever he did wasn’t THAG bad...

Bishop might be the one person with more blood on their hands than Jean at this point.

That lineup has me very pleased and I am beyond ecstatic that Sam is back with the X-Men. He's been one of my favourite characters since I got into comics and he belongs with the X-family.

It takes a writer caring about them. It's not that he'll leave them. They just won't ever be mentioned again.

I really like that lineup, i hpe we will get moments between Jubes and Laura being besties, i dont care about Bishop anymore, like i said somewhere else, i love Storm's new look and i love Kurt with a beard, and i love Jean Grey being front and center.

I hate the new logo thoug, it looks basic.

Btw: theres a new interview with Kelly Thompson and the cover from Issue 2: https://www.marvel.com/articles/comics/ ... d=55582100

That's not a new logo though, it is the classic logo returning (except for some reason they removed the word "the")

#444-473 (Claremont's return after Chuck Austen) used a similar but slightly different version (different angle, and the 'Uncanny' in line with the text) and #475-544 had a slimmer version. Looks to me like the last use of the actual classic logo was #393 (last issue before the Casey/Morrison runs).

(I never realized the logo first was used - minus the Uncanny - as early as 1968!)

Cover for issue 3

With comments by Brisson, including:
Characters who maybe haven't had the spotlight in the past are going to have to step up and prove that they deserve to be on this team. We've given some of the younger X-Men, including my personal favorite, Glob, a chance to really shine, which I'm thrilled about.
Anyone who has been reading Old Man Logan knows Brisson likes Glob

You know what actually excites me? That this time it appears we are getting actual X.Men fans (fanboys even) writing the X-Men, because at least with Rossenberg and Thompson, tehre have been instances of them in interviews and on twitter, were they have expressed their deep love for the franchise and the characters, so i trust that, at least, they are in loving hands, wich i feel it was different with other writers like Bendis or Lemire, who i didnt really felt like they were "fans" of the franchise.
