A team of mutants like you've never seen before...

Found some news out about the X-Men, Avengers, Batman or even? The monthly previews have been released ? Or perhaps there's a rumour you've heard, then post it here for the world to see.

Yeah sometimes I get the feeling CBR is so desperate to get the first article in they just word vomit onto a page without properly reading it over or taking 5 minutes to think about it. They churn out these speculative articles at the same rate we discuss the same topic here. I mean seriously, any x-fan could see Nanny in that image, you’d be forgiven with the Orphan Maker, but Nanny has such a distinctive shape.

Who's the fellow front and center with the big pirate gloves? I thought maybe Black Tom or Banshee but you'd expect to see a shillelagh in Black Tom's hand or Banshee's underarm wings.

I don't think we need spoiler tags since this thread was made to discuss the announcement...

Could the lady figure in the front sporting a skirt and hilding a sword, be Moira McTaggert. She is still not appearing in any title. She could be wearing her scottish attire and did she not weild a sword somewhere in the past?
Just a thought

Woot. Two for two. The only other one I guessed was Nanny, so that's it for me.

I can't help it, but I'm always thinking "Betsy" when I read Psylocke and see this costume. I'm absolutely okay with the body-reswitch, but I think for Kwannon to define her own identity, she needs to either have a new codename or different costume.

When they undo the Captain Betsy nonsense, they might switch around names and costumes. I actually liked the Revanche costume.

I totally agree. I find it weird Marvel went down this route with her cos it’s quite confusing at times. I would have at least kept Revanche as her codename

I pray that’s Kwannon and not Betsy, her going back to that look would be a stepback for her. Truthfully the costume in general is trash imo, just fanservice that really isnt needed....

I don’t know if Betsy will stay as CB but I’m fine with it for now...truthfully Brian can be sidelined or really retire as the headmaster of his academy (and THAT gets a series lol)...plus honestly Brian Braddock sounds like a superhero name in and of itself like Doc Savage lol. Besides, we’re not a deficit of super-smart white dude superheroes in the MU right at the moment...

I’d be okay with fallen angels ending with Kwannon picking something different but I want to see a journey there though...

Seems that Fallen Angels is cancelled or was always supposed to be a mini, then.

I'm sure it's Kwannon. I think it's a safe bet to keep Kwannon as ninja Psylocke with all of her classic trappings just to build a name for the character. At some point, they'll probably change her and give her her own identity, but since she's barely been used, I can see the benefit of attaching her to a better known identity.

There have been tons of Captain Americas. Betsy can be Captain Britain for awhile. I'm sure she won't be Cap forever, much like Sam and Bucky, but I'll take it for now. It also establishes her identity as something separate from the ninja we've gotten used to.

And yes, Fallen Angels is now being billed as a six issue limited series. If/when the writer comes back, they can always do a second volume, but this at least frees up the cast for other books.

According to the writer on Twitter opportunities in the film world opened up for him that he could not pass up and thus he had to just do the first arc. He said there we're interesting plans to continue it. Not sure if this is what he meant.

For all we know, this could be the continuation… even under the Fallen Angels name. It's already got two of its characters in Kwannon and Sinister.

The character under Nanny seems to make a Victory sign with his left hand

The whole Kwannon as Psylocke thing feels like it's Marvel trying to have their cake and eat it too. They get Betsy back as a Brit, but also still have the cool Asian ninja we've known for 30 years too.

I think Marvel might have been preempting a potential future problem with the whole "cultural appropriation" thing. Back then no one really batted an eyelid, but now having a caucasian person body-swap into a Japanese person, and have them be all ninja-like...that wouldn't float. Reagrdless of the reasons for it, I think it's a great time to explore Betsy in her original body and Kwannon in hers. My worry is Kwannon as Psylocke won't be distinct enough as her own character she'll just be Psylocke 2.0. I really feel Marvel need to give her a different codename and costume.

Anyhoo, I'm pretty set on Nanny and the Orphan Maker being two of the silhouettes. I wonder why they are on the team though. I never knew Nanny was a mutant, I knew OM/Peter was, but Nanny was always a mysterious entity. Their schitck though has always been about saving mutant children from what they perceive to be a harmful upbringing. So maybe they are going to be involved with "saving" the next generation of mutants.

I'm fine with Kwannon using the name Psylocke

And then growing past it and taking on her own name. I don't care what it is. It's dumb to have someone with basically the same powers and the same face in the same costume using the same name but being a different person.

I know that this is an English saying, but I never quite get why one would want to "have the cake". To look at it and admire it ?

I'd rather want to eat the cake and it not show on my hips. :P
