Hello Monolith. Can you provide PD's on Vermin (Edward Whelan) and Mendel Stromm?

Edward Whelan was subjected to Arnim Zola's Protoid engineering process. It mutated him into a humanoid rat-man and unleashed primal, animalistic tendencies from his mind. Vermin can lift around 1,000 lbs, possesses enhanced speed, agility, endurance, and reflexes, highly-acute senses and increased recuperative powers. He has sharp fangs, claws, and the manic energy of a caged animal that make him ferocious and deadly. Vermin can summon and exert influence over animals, particularly rats but occasionally other creatures like stray dogs. Recently, Arcade and Kraven subjected him to a further procedure that gave him the ability to duplicate himself, becoming a pack of rat-men. How often or how many is unknown, but he seems to have retained the ability even after Kraven's hunt.

Mendel Stromm was a chemist and roboticist who was business partners with Norman Osborn and designed the original base for the Goblin Formula. Years later he became the Robot Master to seek revenge. Stromm rigged a head piece which transmitted his brain wave patterns to control any one of his robot drones from a distance. He nearly died and began physically wasting away. Osborn made him a pawn, giving Stromm a cybernetic life support suit to keep him alive and provide superhuman strength, under the name Gaunt. He transitioned back into Robot Master as his Gaunt suit was augmented as a large-scale exoskeletal robot body. Stromm was reinvented as Robot Master when he attempted to give himself mental control over all his robots at once. He attempted to link his brain wave patterns to the central computer that governed all his robots, but the computer became sentient and roboticized Stromm, disassembling his human body to the point that he now exists as a disembodied head kept alive through artificial means. In this incarnation, Robot Master maintains a basic robot body for his head to operate. Individual features can vary with the robot design, but he has demonstrated enhanced strength and durability, a magnifying lens and laser weapon in his artificial left eye. Stromm is now capable of remotely commanding all his robots as he originally intended.

Thanks for these. Can you prove PD’s for Omega the Unknown, Snowflake/Safespace?

Did the Blue Marvel get some kind of power upgrade/enhancement from Tony Stark?

Omega the Unknown was a bio-humanoid created by the metallic beings of Protar and sent to infiltrate the human-like aliens of Srensk. He was meant to learn about human traits like honor and nobility through real life experience. As a prototype, his developments would be passed forward to the next in his sequence of experimental humanoid models, one that believed itself to be the pre-teen James-Michael Starling of Earth. Because of this psionic link, Omega and James-Michael could sense each other at a distance or in their dreams, and knowledge or information could be imparted from one to the other as well.

In addition, the people of Srensk wanted to honor Omega after he proved himself their greatest warrior during his infiltration. The Srensk learned how to harness biospheric energy and bestow that power to a host. However, because he was a bio-humanoid and not a normal living being, Omega could not fully control or contain this power. Biospheric energy is the collective psionic power of a planet's people. By tapping into this power, Omega had abilities such as superhuman strength, endurance, durability, leaping ability, limited psychokinesis, and bio-blasts from the Omega symbol on his hands. However, tapping too fully into the biosphere could set off a chain reaction that would kill the inhabitants of the planet, as happened on Srensk. Because of their link, Omega conveyed the power to tap biospheric energy onto James-Michael Starling, as well as the potential to lose control of it.

Snowflake and Safespace were proposed characters for a new New Warriors series during Outlawed. Partly because of the pandemic, a lot of the Outlawed event never got published, so those two have never appeared anywhere.

...From Tony Stark? No. Why?

Oh, it's just that someone mentioned it to me at my LCS and I couldn't find any connection between the two characters.

Thanks.

1.) I remember he once synched with Spider-Man during the Gen-X days, but how is Synch now able to duplicate non-mutant abilities?

2.) Is there a list of people he's synched with and replicated? From his first appearance, I've got...Banshee, Sabretooth, Jubilee, Skin, Emplate, Penance, Chamber, Husk, M, Forge, Gaia, Maggott...then I lost count.

Number 1 is explained in the same comic that he first does so, the Hickman X-Men series I believe #19 or 20. His powers just evolved upon resurrection like alot of other newly revived mutants.
Morrison Era 2001-2005, Decimation Era from 2005-2012, Bendis Era 2012-2016, M-Pox era 2016-2017, and Resurrxion 2017-2019, Hickman Era 2019-?

There were hints over the years about Synch expanding his abilities. He "synched" with a dimensional warp at Cassidy Keep in Generation X #8. There was the Generation X: Ghosts novel which showed his powers expand beyond mutant abilities, too.

If and when we do a Spotlight Update on Everett, a Synchronizing List like Rogue's Absorption List might be a good idea.

For those interested, Page 11 in the MPD Archives thread has been edited as an Eternals entry, consolidating existing PDs and adding new ones to list the ten Eternals from the movie.
