Symbiotes and Their Host

Post by Blackcyclops » 07 Aug 2019, 16:20

I know about Venom, Scorn Carnage and Mania (both Price and Andi). What other symbiotes are there? And what other heroes have been bonded to the aforementioned symbiotes?
Morrison Era 2001-2005, Decimation Era from 2005-2012, Bendis Era 2012-2016, M-Pox era 2016-2017, and Resurrxion 2017-2019, Hickman Era 2019-?

Venom produced five other spawn, Scream, Agony, Riot, Phage, and Lasher, who bonded with Life Foundation agents in Venom: Lethal Protector and Separation Anxiety. Scream killed the other four hosts, and those symbiotes bonded into a new composite symbiote who merged with a Guardsman from the Vault to form Hybrid. The Hybrid symbiote(s) were later separated from each other again.

Carnage produced a spawn named Toxin. It bonded with a police officer before merging with Eddie Brock, post Anti-Venom phase.

At one point or another, symbiotes have possessed or controlled Spider-Man, Scarlet Spider, Thing, Hawkeye, John Jameson, the Original Five X-Men, Rage, D-Man, Hercules, Jane Foster, Wolverine, Captain America, and any number of other characters.

Offspring of Carnage, bonded to Tanis Nieves.

After the Raft breakout and the Sentry ripping the Carnage Symbiote in half, Hall Industries recovered the Carnage Symbiote and bonded it for a short time to Tanis. After removing Carnage, it left an offspring in Tanis‘ prosthetic arm and so she became Scorn.

I think it happened in that Carnage miniseries with that Mercury team. Drawn by Clayton Crain.

Thanks, I haven't read any on the recent Carnage minis but I keep meaning to. Clayton Crain's art is gorgeous.

Carnage and Carnage: USA are great reads if you like some symbiote stories.

There's also Zzzx, the Symbiote that possessed Raza in X-Men: Kingbreaker. Though it's never been to Earth.

I saw mention in another thread that Venom knows Spider-Man's secret identity again. When did that happen?

Yeah, that caught me off guard as well.

The symbiote has been unlocking buried memories in Eddie's head during the current Venom series. I guess this could qualify as something he relearned, but I don't recall it happening explicitly.

I would have to look back but I believe Flash found out before losing the suit so if that happened, then the suit would have carried the memory to Brock.

So I skipped the Bunn Venom trilogy except the last one but how did Carnage lose his symbiote for Osborn to get it? And how did Carnage get to the state we see him in Web of Venom: Carnaage Born?

The Carnage series from a couple years back where Carnage became a lackey of Chton. The final fight had a combination of magic and the sacrifice of Toxin symbiote and a human intro'ed for the storyline to cause Cletus to quit being able to channel Chton's power and in the process split him from the symbiote. Behind the scenes it can be assumed that Osborn used his various lackies and connections to obtain custody.

The Carnage seen in earlier parts of the Venomverse/Poison trilogy was an alternate reality Carnage and the 616 Cletus was made into a Poison in the final part but had the Poison imitate the Carnage powers. His next appearance is in Web of Venom.

There's Payback (Mavis Trent) who has a symbiote but it's not a Klyntar, it's some sort of an energy based life form.
