What Spidey Issue is this from?

Post by RingOtaku » 19 Jul 2018, 03:27

As I said in the title I'm wondering what issue this quirky scene of MJ and Peter came from

Red-and-blue costume, MacFarlene art, Bedford Towers...narrows it down to Amazing #301-314 probably. Couldn't say for sure otherwise, though.

“Quirky”? I think you misspelled “kinky.”

@Monolith That's actually impressive, even after all this time I seen you do your thing. Good Job Sir.

@Nu-D given Peter uses the word kinky in the panel I didn't want to be too on-the-nose myself.

Too bad Todd McF didn’t have your writing sensibilities. “Pete and MJ are INTO KINKY SEX STUFF. Get it? KINKY. LIKE TIE ME UP TO THE CEILING. KINKY!”

Wait, Todd, what are you telling us?

I think if the line had been "I like your kinky new hairdo" by itself it would have been fine. Would have come off as a cheesy pun with the webbed-up MJ visual. It's the "speaking of kinky" part from a topless Peter that oversells it. I think this is why Todd sticks to toy designs these days.

After backtracking around it's actually Spider-Man #13. Monolith had the artist right just wrong Spider-Series.
