Didn't that one already in War College already appear or am I thinking of someone else?
So on one hand we have the existence of a being who can reset the entire timeline, destroying everything…, and on the other hand we have a few mind wipes and some gaslighting. You're right, totally evenly weighted.

He’s a mutant/human combo. I don’t know that the mutant half has ever been given a name.

Was that ever confirmed by anyone besides him? I always got the feeling that comment was just him rationalizing to convince himself that he's not a mutant even though he actually is.

Could be. all I have is him saying that he isn’t a mutant on the printed page. His brother appears to be non-verbal and didn’t contradict him. I can’t prove or disprove his mutancy because it’s not clear where he ends and his brother begins (though they have separate brains). :shrugs:

Thanks for the info, folks. I won't add Ironfire because he's yet to make an in-continuity appearance, but I did add Quick since her child self was in X-Men Red #6.

And for this week's update:

Valentine Vuong is confirmed as a mutant in Deadpool #4.

New this week:

Bushwacker and new character Esera Seanoa, ancestor of 2099's Northstar, both appear in Marauders v2 #12.

EDIT: Bushwacker has been de-listed since he is actually not a mutant.

To be clear, Bushwacker is not a mutant. He is a cyborg who occasionally has the delusional belief that he is a mutant.

Thanks for the clarification. Inside the issue itself, Psylocke says "His name is Bushwacker. A mutant who kills other mutants. Artists especially."

I'll just take him off the list with the explanation that Psylocke got that bit of info wrong.

If she gleaned it from the surface of his mind, it makes sense. Guy's nuts.

Persomally i would leave him on the list with a note to clarify his mutant status as uncerrtain. He has had dealings with the X-Men and Marauders so i assume Psylocke knew of him and possibly his mutant status. His handbook profile makes his status unclear as well but does refer to it. He is definately a cyborg but that doesn't mean he can't be a mutant as well. It's your list an defer to your decision.

Side note: he’s one of a few Daredevil rogues who have been loosely identified as mutants. The other two are the Owl and Bullseye (he was psychic at one point). I think it’s because mutants were very popular at one point. But the x-books rarely crossed over with the other titles. So random mutants started popping up places ex. The Femme Fatales.

I don't believe Bullseye has ever been considered a mutant in 616. People have asked, "Is he so talented that he's SUPERhuman?", but the answer has always been "No."

Owl is another case of a single mistake occasionally repeated, like Bushwacker. Owl was a peddler of MGH, Mutant Growth Hormone, and said he added his own genetic material to the mix. This led fans to conclude, "He must be a mutant, then!" But, from the beginning, "Mutant" Growth Hormone was being synthesized from non-mutants, like Mattie Franklin, so MGH wasn't solely derived from X-gene holders.

There have been several cases of misidentified mutants such as Falcon and Taskmaster but to my knowledge Bushmaster has been the only one to state himself as a mutant. I personally consider him a mutant for that reason and the fact i believe he started hunting mutants for Sinister and the Marauders when he first appeared in Daredevil.

Bushwacker is a man with identified mental problems who made a statement which is directly contradicted by every other piece of media on the subject. The one time he claimed to be a mutant, he didn't say "I'm a mutant and I have a cybernetic arm", opening the possibility that he had some other power separate from his arm. He said, "My arm isn't cybernetic, it's my mutant power!" His arm IS cybernetic -- we've seen it's mechanical parts being modified and removed, everybody from Doctor Doom to Deathlok has identified and interacted with it as a bionic prosthesis, etc. He hunted mutants because he was a contract killer and the Marauders took out a contract.

You can choose to continuing believing he is a mutant, but his claim just isn't supported by logic or evidence.
