I really liked this draft, like others picking from different generations meant very small amount of manoeuvring if you lost out on you ideal pick, forcing quite a bit of strategising, not least following the flow of other players's generational (and not just character) picks.

I was pretty lucky that once I got Xavier I had a reasonably clear idea of what I wanted to do with him..although I never intended it to be the hyper powered team it turned out to be, my very first ideas was to basically have a team of Charles' screw-ups, so Legion would still be there, but Amelia would've been from the 90s, Sabretooth would've been from the 70s, and I'm not sure who my 00s pick would've been, but I had loads of choices as it was the decade of Xavier's secrets (Danger, Vulcan...), plus Quentin. Once I lost Amelia, I tweaked the concept and ended up really happy with my team. Probably the single most powerful draft team ever, perhaps?!

I found the 10s the hardest round to pick for, so few of the characters really resonate with me and I couldn't find much at all to tie in.

This generation draft concept would also work really well for the Avengers - I would guess there wouldn't be a single decade of a character explosion there...!

The 00s might be big, due to Young Avengers and Avengers Initiative, but the biggest would probably be the 60ies; even if you don't include the pre-60ies. It's not just the founders, but the entire Fantastic Four, Crystal, Medusa, Beast, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Swordman, Black Panther, Black Kight, Herc, Sersi, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, etc.

Marvel's most iconic characters were created in the 60ies, and most of them ended up joining the Avengers at some point or the other.

It was Spectral's suggestion, and the basic concept is Magik86's.... besides I have two others in the pipeline.
You know, if neither Magik nor Spectral want to, why don't YOU host it ?

Yeah… you do know that we live in the same time zone, right?

Anyway,.. I'm also interested in how our newest participant enjoyed the draft. That was an intresting line-up you picked there, Sequoia.

Astonishing Excalibur https://youtu.be/rOLf8-7R_Q8

Years ago, the Fury unleashed a devastating attack on the Starlight Citadel and killed Roma and Merlyn, and dozens of Captain Britain Corps members.

Britanotron, a robotic corpse member, was infused with a virus by the Fury which lay dormant for a long time. Over the years, the virus influenced Britanotron more and more until it it had complete control over its host.

Secretly, Furytron attacked and captured lesser known superhuman beings all over the United Kingdom. They all share a link to the mystic force of the land and the sea
of the Kingdom and Furytron tries to extract those energies to open a portal into the multiverse, and build an army of followers to conquer other planets.

Its ultimate goal is to gain access to the lifeforce and the power cosmic, reaching a godlike level. Furytron finally battles Captain Britain and every MI-13 member, but they are no match for the mighty cybernetic being. One by one they are defeated and teleported away by Furytron‘s minions.

Captain Britain is the last man standing, but badly wounded. Bevor it can deliver the final blow, Furytron is suddenly attacked and scarred away by an exotic energy blast by the time-displaced Widget who returned to its former timeline.

After days of recovery and healing, Brian returned to his former Britanic personality and tasked Widget to assemble a new team of powerful beings to fight against Furytron and free the captured allies.

As most of the X-Men have left the Earth with Krakoa, Widget sends out a distress call in the hope that someone will acknowledge.

Britanic: Brian saw how his wife Meggan was shot by one of Furytron‘s loyal minions, and this caused him to revert back to his more ruthless Britanic personality. He tasks Albion and the remaining Captain Britain Corps members to safeguard Avalon and the Multiverse, at all costs.

Widget: Returning from his partnership with Kang, the mysterious cybernetic Widget sensed the threat on Earth-616 but arrived to late. Feeling guilty about its former friends, Widget helps Britanic forming a new team and help battle Furytron.

Revanche: Kwannon found herself alive again and wandering through the streets of Oldham, England. She was taken in and cared for by the resurrected Changeling. Kwannon remembers her last moments alive, and she still struggles with her combined personality and identity and not knowing if it is her own body.

Changeling: He too appeared in Oldham, but one year earlier. Suffering from PTSD, he kept a low-profile to not gain the X-Men‘s attention. Working as a body double and voice actor, he worked himself into some upper societies, but preferred to stay in the ground without anyone recognizing his mutant ability.

Siryn: Theresa stayed behind, after the X-Men and most mutants relocated to the green Mars. She moved to Cassidy Keep in Ireland and started a life as farmer for cattle and sheep. Because of Theresa still being Morrigan too, the Furytron couldn’t sense her. Receiving Widget‘s call for help, she decided to help her friends one last time, but she is struggling to keep her Morrigan personality in check.

Gentle: Nezhno too stayed behind on Earth, and went back to Wakanda where he was invited into the Royal Family and became mentor for children who have problems adjusting to society. With no mental barrier anymore, his strength becomes more and more limitless and his body grows bigger than before.

Velocidad: Gabriel, alongside other chronokinetic superhumans, is captured by Kang and imprisoned in the time-displaced Damocles Base. Seeing no other way, Gabriel uses his powers to the maximum and he dies of old age. In the blink of his last heartbeat, his powers kicked in and he was reseted back to his own timestream and age.

I've never ran a draft before, but I might be tempted to do an Avengers Generations IF there's demand for it, and IF I can spare the time to create the character lists / planning. However, IF a more experienced draft runner would want to take that baton, I would be more than happy to let them run with it. That's a lot of it's, I know...

With X drafts, I'm always surprised at how many iterations of an Excalibur book we see. I think because of it had two or three traits unlike most other X-books (the weird/kooky vibe, the UK setting, and the infamous Cross-time Caper) it's got a lot of hooks to play off, more so than even some of the more established X-titles.

Ah sorry. I am working as firefighter and we have different shift time now. First, I tried to make an Askani Clan group, but I could not make the characters work. There are characters I do not like, and so I changed plan.

X-Factor

Cecelia Reyes/Remedy: the team‘s medic and state pathologist.
Nathan Summers/Teen Cable: tactician and weapon expert.
Warlock: Technarchy alien. Can adapt to every spoken language. Combat and defense expert.
Alexander Summers/Havok: Team leader. The unique geology of the southwest gives Havok geomorphic powers.
Fixx: time displaced psionic. Attache‘ to Val Cooper and the Commission of Superhuman Activities.
Fantomex and E.V.A.: responsible for distraction, infiltration, deception, and transport. Combat specialists.
John Proudstar/Thunderbird: Native American powerhouse and master tracker. Spiritual connection to the land and the natives.

Native American tribes have reported attacks on their people, but local forces did not intervene. John Proudstar goes to Arizona and starts investigating but is nearly murdered by mutated and technomorphed animals and humans. Realizing the danger, Val Cooper sanctions a X-Factor team and has Havok lead it.

Thank you. First, I thought about a Clan Askani origin story. But during the draft I didn’t like the team up for that anymore and it became X-Factor. Remedy I heard first in Final Fantasy 6 and I always liked that name. I couldn’t come up with a better Codename.
