As the Krakoa draft is in it's final round, dp we know what the next game up is?

EphX, did you want to go next with the Warp Redux after you asked to be skipped this time round?

While you are updating the list, I have decided on the theme for when my turn to host comes around. It will be called Drafts of Vengeance.
Best Comics of Week 28

X-titles: Excalibur #22 by Tini Howard (3) and Marcus To (3)
Non-X titles: Extreme Carnage--Scream by Clay Chapman (1) and Chris Mooneyham (1)

In parentheses number of times creator has had best comic this year

I'll give folks a few more days to post leftover stuff from the Krakoa draft before staring my thread. I'll have room for 16 players before I have to start whittling down the number of turns.

I wasn’t part of the now finished Warp Draft because I am not good at combining and writing backstories for merged characters, but I loved those mostly weird amalgamations.

Is Cable‘s Vengeance Draft next?

Just a thought, with Drafts of Vengeance being an Avengers-y type draft (or at least non X-Men) and I'm lined up for Avengers Generations, maybe a mini-draft theme might work to separate these? I don't mind moving back a draft, especially if it's only a mini-draft theme to spread this out a bit.

The only mini-draft currently on the list is the Alpha Flight one, which has some Avengers overlap as well. (USAgent, Captain Marvel, Spider-Woman/Arachne, Marrina, Wolverine, Sunfire) This would probably not be the best idea.

EDIT:
However, I might go back to the Anti-Krakoa appraoch from a page ago. (the cast list being everyone not part of the Kraoa Draft, namely characters from different timelines only, either original ones or alternates of 616 characters, but only one per individual. (If someone picks Bloodstorm, then sorceress Storm from Limbo is off-limits). Not too many people seemed interested in that, so it might just be a "mini" draft, and also it would be X-themed, so could work between the two Avenger themes.

I don't think Alpha Flight is a bad idea, sure there is a little overlap but a tonne of very unique characters are also part of the Flight teams that would make it very different.

Think this is a stronger idea than the Anti-Krakoa (in my mind at least)

The character list for Apha Flight has only about 60 characters, so this would have to be a Distribution Draft like Fantastic Four, where each character can be drafted multiple times, and every player drafts three Flight teams of their own choice & purposes (First, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Omega) I'd have to go over the numbers to how many people could participate and how big each of the drafted groups can be. Last time I did a Distribution draft, many thought it might be too complicated, but those that participated seemed to enjoy it.

"Anti-Krakoa" is just a working title, as it describes the cast list. The basic premise is post Secret Wars. Franklin Richards is repairing the multiverse and while he had no problems to restore his own reality (the main Marvel Universe) from memory, it was too difficult for him to recreate everything else as it was. Instead, there's a merged reality of all the universes that collided, but that world still needs X-teams. And the cast list then is mutants from alternate timelines, but only one version of each character or originals. Actually it could be a rule that everyone has to draw one original and variant per round, so it'd be done in half the time.

I wouldn't mind doing the Alpha Flight speed draft.

The distribution draft model was one I was initially skeptical on when I first heard about it but I changed my mind when I saw how well the rules were laid out. Certainly wouldn't mind trying it again.

I have updated the front page to reflect that sign ups have started for Cable's Vengeance draft and tentatively placed Alpha Flight followed by Avengers Generations. I can change the order if we need to.

It's only occurring to me now that we are less than 6 weeks away from Christmas. Neither the weather nor the Corona situation help when it comes to get into the holiday mood, but it is coming....

Question: will we interrupt Cable's draft for a week to 10 days, or would it be better to do a shorter draft before X-Mas ? While I'm not that eager to get mine started early, I do have two and a half weeks off starting on Thursday.

It will be fine plus we have already started sign ups for Vengeance.

People have phones during the holidays to keep up with the draft and they always have the option to PM Cable with a short list of characters if they'll be gone for an extended period.

Don't see any problems running through Christmas and the NY either - of course it's Cable's choice, but with the way it is, it'll be sure to be distraction from what will be a season of joy lacking in as much seasonal joy as we're used to.

Okay, gives me more time to work out the concept, or rather do the proper calculations. I have a list of 48 character who were a member of one of the many Flight teams, and four characters whom I consider close enough allies to make the full list too. But this list also has some very short term members on it, such as Auric and Silver, or Earthmover. While Carol Danvers is on the list (Alpha Flight space program), I'm unsure wether to include the entire Ultimates. (Blue Marvel, Photon, America Chavez, etc.)

So right now it's just 52 characters, which is not too many options if people are to create three Flight teams from it of 5-6 members each, even if there's some free agents allowed. I might actually do not only free agents, but an additional category for characters with confirmed ties to the Canadian governemnt (Weapon P.R.I.M.E.) or Canadian Citizenship (Squirrel Girl, Transsonic, etc.), but all these extras may dilute the concept.

I have an idea from a draft inspired by a post I did last night...it’s a bit more unintended-collaboration lol...it’ll be similar to the Krakoa Draft but also different lol
Morrison Era 2001-2005, Decimation Era from 2005-2012, Bendis Era 2012-2016, M-Pox era 2016-2017, and Resurrxion 2017-2019, Hickman Era 2019-?

So, Draft of Vengenance went by MUCH quicker than any of us may have anticipated.

I haven't had the time to review the Alpha Flight idea, and I'm not up for hosting this short before the holidays. My suggestion would be to do a break till after New Years, and then maybe SK can run his Avengers Generations one?

Yeah, Acts of Vengeance flew by!

I'll pop up a sign up for Avengers Generations later this week, with nothing officially kicking off until 4th Jan as I wouldn't want to start over the holidays so plenty of time for people to sign up ahead of the start.
