Team Swap! Draft

This draft will be straightforward in that there are no special rounds or rules, but also a bit unusual in how the list is composed.

At the beginning of the game every player will start with a list of characters they have chosen (though called Team Swap, these characters don't actually have to be a team or even make coherent sense as a set. Just whatever characters you want to enter into the game). The number of characters will be equal to the number of players in the game. Each turn you will then select a character from another player's list, and then next turn a different player's list, and so on until at the end your team is composed of one character from each player and then you will also have left one of your original remaining picks.

The characters you enter at the beginning can be anyone from Marvel superhero comics, X-Men or not, hero or villain, 616 or multiverse, whatever. Just keep in mind that the character that nobody wants is the one YOU will be stuck with in the end.

Sign-ups are open. We need at least five players but no more than 10. All are welcome new and old, one entry per person.

1- Can multiple people choose from the same person's list in the same round?

2 - How do we account for redundant characters? If three people have Wolverine on their starting roster, then three teams can presumably draft a Wolverine but not more than one? If that were the case what if you are stuck drafting a character you already have?

1. Yep. What player you want to pick from each round is up to you and everyone could pick the same player's list in a round.

2. The lists will be vetted ahead of time so there are no redundant characters.

Only the original decreasing list is available to pick from.

I did not recall the mechanics of yours and went back and looked at your pitch and realize how similar they are Either great minds think alike or some aspect of yours embedded in my lizard brain! I can cancel this and wait for yours if you like.

Though your game is more focused on the mechanics of swapping while truth be told Team Swap does not actually contain any swapping . It is more an experiment on an alternative way to compose the list(s) and how players strategically choose the order in which they pick off those lists. But I don't want to step on your toes so I am alright with waiting for your concept instead if you want.

Don't worry about stepping on toes - we've all been stepping on your toes as I think it was you who introduced drafts to us in any case, so no need to wait on my account! Like I said, I'll be watching how you manage this as that's been my fear for my concept, rather than the rules themselves, it's keeping track of team selections and player picks.

Now we need to compose the lists. I want this done independently but without redundancies so in order to do this I need everyone to PM me a list of TWENTY characters (if you find yourself blanking on this you can look at lists of past drafts for reference). This will allow me to move things around if necessary. I can't guarantee you will get your top ten but you will get some combination of ten characters from your list, unless there is so much overlap that I have to follow up with some of you. Keep your inbox open just in case.

Question, if you do a split team, does it have to be 5/5 or is any other grouping okay too, as long as you use all ten ?

Well you are supposed to form teams in Team Swap. 6 and 4 would also be acceptable but anything less than that and one of the groupings isn't a team, it is a solo hero or partnership or Spidey And His Amazing Friends (which isn't a team, it is just Spider-Man and two of his friends)
