Code Name: Diamond Heist
Name: Eléonore
Genetic Template: Bling! + Gambit

Eléonore is a master thief with diamond hard pale gray skin and eyes like red gemstones. She has the power to kinetically charge inanimate objects but has a special affinity and extra explosive power when she tosses out the stolen diamonds she keeps in her stylish trench coat.

From the log of Dr. Henry McCoy:
As the man who regulates the superior team of black ops mutants, it was my prerogative that a chimera specialized in stealth and stealing was imperative for X-Force. Given Sinister's historical obsession with Remy, I endeavored at the mixing of his template first in order to entice the caped jester himself to demonstrate the machinations so long burgeoning.
Books to be excited for:
The X-cellent, Immortal X-men, X-men Red, Knights of X, X-men XCII, She-Hulk

I have no idea what you’re talking about, I barely even remember who Gumbot? Gimlet? Goblet?… whatever his name is.

Incidentally, it’s a joke (albeit not a funny one) to refer to yourself as the leader of the superior team of black ops specialists when it’s more appropriate to refer to them as tree surgeons given the amount of plants they fight.

Edit— I’ve also begun the ritual of summoning Wings, but given that it was his birthday yesterday and I believe he’s Irish, it’s about 50/50 whether he’s woken up in Mexico because damn them Irish love a party and also HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY

Blame Hope. They only sent me here with a vague plan and to be a fail safe to patch up any samples that may be damaged by our little schemes and games.

Can our pale-faced host be a delight and cross through the other researchers' names as they complete their experiments on the first page?

Think of it like ticking off each Morlock abomination as they're brutally tortured and murdered if it'll help convince?

Genetic samples: Remy LeBeau a.k.a. Gambit and Illyana Rasputina a.k.a. Magik

Name/Codename: Luc Pelletier a.k.a. Banisher

Physical description: Grey hair, pale skin, black eyes with red irises inherited from genetic template GAMBIT. Septum and brow piercings. Costume of red, purple and black with a hood that he rarely wears, fingerless gloves of course.

Powers: Touch-based teleportation using the Limbo pocket dimension. Can "banish" targets to Limbo or have them pass through back into our dimension at will. Use of power results an explosive burst of Limbo energies and can lead to the manifestation of demons from that dimension in our plane of existence.

The fluid nature of time in Limbo could also allow potential time-travel, if Banisher can learn to navigate the treacherous plane.

Potential future development of abilities: Analysis of genetic structure reveals potential capability to create "stepping disks" similar to genetic template MAGIK. Could control these stepping disks to allow or refuse access, using targets own kinetic energy to repel them backwards. Could produce a kinetic field to protect himself from this effect, thus allowing him to use these closed portals to bounce or pinball himself around a battlefield (See files on human mutate SPEEDBALL).

Implanted backstory to come.

(Thanks for the birthday wishes, das!)

Genetic templates
Illyana Rasputina //Magik
Forge

Diabolique ex Machina
Mahea Rasputina

Physical characteristics
5’8, dark skinned like her father, dark blonde hair in a similar style to her mother. Metallic curved horns from a non-terrestrial, infernal metal that sprout from her temples. Slender build. One blue eye, one brown eye speckled with red.

Abilities
Teleportation via limbo
Intuitive ability to imagine and create weapons, technology and machinery
Limited magical potential, mostly limited to mystical senses and rapid communication spells

X-Gene Synergies
Instantaneous creation of technology and machinery via demonic instruction— Mahea is able to open a portal to Limbo, release a communication spell into the infernal realm, and due to the variegated passage of time in Limbo compared to Earth, the machinery/technology/weaponry appears almost instantly, albeit created with daemonic materials

Mahea (Alteration of “Creator” in Cheyenne, albeit following Russian rules of feminising male names) Rasputina spent her teenage years wishing that she were more adept at sorcery— little did she realise that when her mutant ability to open portals to Limbo manifested, that she had also inherited her father’s ability to create. Suddenly it didn’t seem to matter to her that she couldn’t wield the levels of magic that her mother did, or even her father— being able to instantly create anything she could imagine by combining her powers was more than enough to earn her a place on a newer and more successful iteration of The Hellions. Spending more time in Limbo encouraged the physical manifestations of horns on either side of her head, made from the same organic metal that her mother’s armour was made from in her Darkchylde persona, which aid her communication with the demons of Limbo loyal to her.

PRIVATE LOG OF ERIK "MAGNUS" LENSHERR [SL_MAG_O1]

I must admit I was surprised at Sinister's invitation to his laboratory to partake in this "exercise." Not surprised that he would host such an event, as such seems to be exactly the sort of thing that peacock finds invigorating. Nor surprised that my intellect and experience would qualify me for such an experiment, with my Savage Land dalliance as the Creator alone serving to establish my bona fides. But I am surprised that he would deign to invite another member of the Council, given the supposed cloak-and-dagger secrecy of the whole affair. Then again, I am well known to hold secrets of my own. Perhaps it is a ruse, and I am merely invited to give him plausible deniability should his machinations go awry. Then again, I think I spied Tony Stark here as well. If the clown is inviting humans and Avengers to these proceedings, perhaps the whole thing is nothing more than an exercise in folly and absurdity. It is difficult to know with Sinister.

That said, my first selection was...

Genetic Stock: Forge + Scanner (Sarah Ryall)
Codename: Bronzemind
Physical Description: Dark-haired, light-skinned female, average height and physique. No distinguishing features except for dark markings on her face, reminiscient of her mother's
Powers: Can detect superpowered individuals in a wide surrounding radius, regardless of the source of their powers - the X-gene, magic, radiation, and so on. Although her powers function passively, with concentrated effort her range and accuracy can be expanded. She is capable not only of sensing superpowered individuals, but is also able to subconsciously know their source of power, capabilities and weaknesses. Purely technological entities are more difficult to discern, but their power sources and relative energy levels are identifiable.

Apologies for the delay, experiment #1's accelerated maturity provided some difficulties for my record-keeping...

Nonetheless, I do miss my esteemed colleagues in the X-Club, and as one of the few members of our delegation approaching the vintage of our diamond-browed host, I am well aware of the benefits of scientific collaboration, so you'll all be treated to the first manuscript of "The Chimera Experiments" for mutual inspiration and learnings.

For reasons that will become clear with subject #1, alas, it is handwritten, and you know what they say (quite fairly) about a doctor's handwriting...

PRIVATE LOG OF ERIK "MAGNUS" LENSHERR [SL_MAG_O2]

All of the invitees have partaken in one experimental pairing of genetic stock, and I must admit, I am no closer to discerning the true purpose of this enterprise. "Make More Mutants" yes, but surely there is a greater aim to doing so in this fashion, selecting from Sinister's DNA stores, than could be accomplished in the old fashioned way. There certainly have been some powerful results, and some others that are interesting combinations of power sets, but is there any strategy beyond a sort of perverse entertainment? I must admit my first selection was purely utilitarian, an attempt to create a powerful mutant that would fill a strategic weakness. One only needs to see how Dr. McCoy continues to treat our intelligence service as if it is a human spy film, rather than seeking to shore up our actual defense and counter-intelligence programs, which seem to sorely be lacking given the amount of invasions we have suffered from (Note for next Council meeting: discuss appointment of new leadership to X-Force.)

Still, perhaps I am letting my worries get the better of me, and lapsing into my too-graven past self. Perhaps we should allow ourselves to indulge in the mysteries and wonder of our mutant gifts. We have defeated death, shaken the world, and built an empire of enlightenment. We are immortal, and perhaps immortals are those who should be partaking in the reward of juvenile entertainment, as Nightcrawler might argue.

Given the powerful variance of Mystique's DNA, there were certainly a number of useful powers which one could attempt to cook up. Ultimately, however, I decided to throw caution to the wind, and see what surprises chance holds...

Genetic Stock: Mystique (Raven Darkholme) + Multiple Man (James Madrox)

Codename: Rolodex (NOTE: Not my selection... she chose it herself, apparently inheriting her "father's" sense of humor.)

Physical Description: Pale blue-skinned androgynous female of above-average height, athletic build

Powers: Upon being physically struck, generates a clone of herself, in a process similar to her father. However, upon creation, the clone nearly immediately shapeshifts into the form of another person that Rolodex has met or is familiar with. The chosen person is somewhat random, but appears to be more likely to be a copy of someone Rolodex has spent time in the presence of recently. With focus and effort, Rolodex appears able to guide the selected outcome; with training and experience it is possible she may be able to eventually completely control the outcome as she sees fit. Unlike Madrox, she does not re-absorb the clones, rather, they simply expire in a puff of smoke (with a faint tang of brimstone... perhaps as a result of fetal microchimerism from carrying Nightcrawler?) Clones that transform into mutants are able to use the copied parties' powers, though the more powerful the ability, the quicker the clone expires. The clones demonstrate a base level of decent intelligence, though they mostly seem subservient to Rolodex.

Genetic Stock
James Madrox//Multiple Man
Tabitha Smith//Honestly who can keep track?

Physically, he favours his father, although his hair is blond like his mothers. Conventionally handsome (If you’re into that kind of thing, I guess) but overall there’s nothing about him that really sticks out. Average height, average athletic build (average in that we live in a world where everyone looks like an Olympian… mostly… sorry Blob). Although just before a detonation, his dupes eyes pulse with an orange glow, with the pulse quickening as he gets closer to exploding. Alas, he not only speaks like his mother but also has his father’s dubious sense of humour and love for film noir, proving that terrible taste is, in fact, genetic.

Tommy Madrox
Smart-Bomb

Mutant abilities:
Tommy is able to create duplicates of himself via kinetic impact. These duplicates are essentially drones, and he can operate them remotely, is aware of their experiences, and suffers no cognitive impairment to his main body whilst controlling them. These duplicates appear to be flesh and blood but are actually comprised of solid and stable plasma energy. Rather than being reabsorbed into his body, when Tommy has no further use for these duplicates, they detonate, with force ranging from a small concussive blast (equivalent to a mild gust of wind) to an explosion capable of atomising humans of a baseline level of invulnerability, shattering concrete and other dense materials, and puncturing steel plating— variable at his mental command. Tommy is able to not only “set” these dupes to a time before detonation, but is also able to cause instant detonation if necessary.

Upon detonation, Tommy retains any information gathered by his drones.

FALSE BACK STORY
After an ill-fated dalliance fuelled by excessive inebriation on both counts, Tabitha found herself pregnant. Assuming that, at worst, her son would just be re-absorbed into his father, Tabitha decided to keep her son. With no obvious powers at birth, both Tabby and Jamie were relieved until he turned 15 and generated a duplicate when he tripped and fell down a flight of stairs, which then promptly exploded and blew a hole in a wall.

Seeing his potential as both a spy and a saboteur, he was a natural recruit for the Hellions 2.0.

Genetic Samples: Tabitha Smith a.k.a. Boom-Boom + Jono Starsmore a.k.a. Chamber

Name/Codename: Ewan Cattermore a.k.a. Flummox

Physical description: Has inherited genetic template CHAMBER's wild mop of brown hair, and penchant for long black coats. Usually paired with a colourful scarf of some sort. Tall and lanky. Eyes change colour every time he uses his power.

Powers: Ability to create psionic "mindbombs" of either telepathic or telekinetic energy. In the case of the former, temporarily blocks access to target's short-term memory causing confusion and disorientation. Telekinetic bombs can be charged to increase radius and force of the blast. If Flummox becomes distracted while charging a mindbomb, it may go off early potentially affecting friend as well as foe.

Possible dormant form of latent metamorphic abilities due to descendance from the line of ancient mutant Apocalypse.

Implanted Backstory: Forthcoming...My apologies, I'm swamped at work this week but shall try and get backstories up for Flummox and Banisher by the weekend.

Being the premiere genius of mutantkind, it falls to everyone's favorite furry blue scientist to speed up the process of planet creation. While the Omegas staged a commendable performance terraforming Mars into Arrako, surely the process can be done in a more efficient manner.

Thus I present the chimera:

Code Name: Primordial
Genetic Template: Chamber and Magma
Powers: Ability to harness his explosive and tectonic powers to literally kickstart a dead planet. Power set too devastating to remain on earth and thus remains on SWORD space station with a certain green haired commander of which I am overly familiar.
Books to be excited for:

Specimen 1: Amara Juliana Olivians Aquilla aka Magma
Specimen 2: Carl Aalston aka Rain Boy

Codename: Peninsula
Name: Penny Suela
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Height: 4' 10''
Weight:141 lbs
Eye Color: Gold that glow when harnessing powers
Hair Color: Black with one red streak, one blue streak
Hair Style: Hair is curly with her right half of her head shaved.

Powerset: Control Magma/ Water in her area. Thanks to the containment suit like abilities of Specimen 2 when on the offense, Peninsula can take Magma and water into their body keeping the two entities separate but ready to be expelled.

Purpose: Being able to harness the magma beneath the core allows Peninsula to easily manipulate not just the earth she stands on but her very environment. Her main purpose is to expand Arbor Magna. Krakoa has been more than generous to let us continue building and thriving but we must also take our own laws in our hand. By creating new growth onto our island we respect our land. Peninsula will use the very Earth herself to help Krakoa connected further by rushing lava to the surface and through the gifts of her male specimen can shoot high pressure water to immediately cool it. Thus growing and expanding Krakoa.

Rain Boy crossed with Polaris

Fabricated history invented by crazy person Mr Sinister:

One day there was a girl who was the little sister of a pair of twins. These twins got all the attention. Everyone thought they were superstars and she was just the other kid. Well when they were getting ready to go to their glamorous prom, her older sister was making last minute adjustments with her curling iron when suddenly her hair just became doused with water and her look was ruined. Tried to use her fancy chrome hairdryer and again just doused in water. Tried to brush and again it was like the bristles just became water. Same happened to her twin brother and they couldn't go to prom with their dates and were considered dbag losers. YEAH! Ok maybe not the coolest origin story for powers but that day Abby learned she could turn metal into water and thats f#*$ing cool. Try to shoot her? You have a squirt gun now. Or maybe just a really wet hand. Or maybe that metal platform you are standing on is now a lake. The point is that if you mess with Abby or her friends then you get the hose again. And now she doesn't have to play second fiddle to those dumb twins.

Cyclops told her that her power would make her a great support member for the X-Men. She asked him why he is crying. He was confused and said he wasn't but then his visor turned into water like he was crying and his lens fell out and he blew up a building. And Abby told him to come back when he needs a team leader because she isn't the f#*$ing back-up person.

Abby has beautiful long bright orange hair. Does that mean she wears an orange costume? No, who just wears clothes the same color as their hair? That would be dumb. She wears green because she looks f#$*ing great in it. And her eyes are green. Some people say they are blue and those people end up drowning on their soda can.

Her codename is MELTDOWN. She is ABBY, not TABBY, and Tabitha Smith can F#$* OFF.
Best Comics of Week 3

X-titles: Devil's Reign--X-Men #1 by Gerry Duggan (2) and Phil Noto (1)
Non-X titles: Eternals #9 by Kieron Gillen (1) and Esad Ribic (1)

In parentheses number of times creator has had best comic this year
