I don't f'n believe it. I'm so gonna be on the dregs by round 5. Ridiculous. My first theme has been pretty much decimated this round.

And I was planning on using my loan pick on the other theme to get someone specific....this has gone horribly, horribly wrong.

I have absolutely no idea where you are going with this or what your genres could be, but all four characters are very intresting choices. Well done, Omnicon.

(And fortunately they didn't disrupt any of my plans. If everyone sticks to stealing the characters Spectral wants instead of going after mine, then I'll enjoy this Draft very much.)

Just think of mutant powers = job, and one of my next picks will clarify my genre, I think. The characters will stay true to their origin, maybe I will adjust my next pick‘s powers to the genre. But as far as I know, there are people like him/her in that setting.

I've come to the realization that there is a powerset that is weirdly almost entirely represented by female characters and it bugs me because people will think I'm trying to pick all the female characters again.

You jest (I hope?!), but there is one poster whose picks so far pretty much would nail the theme I'm now seriously struggling with.

@Cable - are any of the themes shared between posters, or do we all have seperate themes from each other?

With ca. 40 different genres to chose from, there surely was some over-lap, especially as some genre descriptions gave a bit more leeway than others. (at least one or two of those that I was offered had a "of your own choosing" element)

As for me jesting… yes, mostly. Ideally we all were going after different characters with none of our ideas having any overlaps, but that seems quite unlikely and it would also make the drafting process boring and moot. So, if there are some overlaps and characters being snatched away…. it better happen to you (or any of the other guys) than me. :D But I guess those words will come back to bite me sooner or later. As they say, Pryde comes before the Fall of the Mutants.

Yeah, I think Pryde joined a few years before the Mutants fell.

She did indeed; that's how she got turned into a permanently phased ghost in a bottle.

Nobody has the exact same genre but since some are sub genres of the same category (different types of fantasy or sci fi) they may come out similar.

Yeah, I have to say, I really think that Cable was kind with the options. I don’t think there was a single genre I was offered that I immediately dismissed for my second (my first was obvious). I would have been happy with any of them, and I suspect he tailored these for each player, too.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong no complaints at all on the options list. Tonnes to choose from, and there were quite a few that could have been fun to work with.

It's just funny (as well as incredibly frustrating for my master draft plan!) how another poster has just hit every spot with a "bugger, I could have done with that character" moment. I wouldn't be surprised though if if turns out they have a COMPLETELY different genre when all is revealed. Not to mention they might well be split across their two genres

While I have no complaints with my current picks there's been one character taken that I feel would be REALLY good for it, another who would be a good replacement for someone, and a third I wanted but didn't really expect to get.

So picking Longshot didn't have much impact on my luck, maybe I need to improve my odds...
