Ugh. So, I ordered mine through Amazon, and I probably won't be getting it until the 14th. *le sob*

I'm feeling better about going digital.

I like having an actual disc and physical extras (I bought deluxe and got it back when Amazon still had that preorder discount, so it was less than 60 still).

I understand, as someone who was going to get the First Class Edition, but if I'm not getting any of the extras it's just really not worth it anymore. I don't trade games in anymore so having it digital just means one less thing to pack when I move.

The ticking clock on my PS4 is driving me nuts. Just be 0 already.

I’ve heard mainly good things about this. Lots of review are in and they are gushing about it but they do say it feels a little bloated in some areas. They say the fighting is awesome which is the main thing for me.

Shame not al of the original characters are playable at this point due to them not being introduced in the story yet. But I guess it means there are characters for the next instalments to keep things fresh.

Friend of mine is getting his First Class in today. I need to do the pre-load on my PS4 to be ready even though I probably won't get any real play time until Sunday night.

Oh god.

No spoilers at all...

I didn’t know whether the FMV was computer generated or real life cinema.

Guys this game is BEAUTIFUL

If you pay attention, all cutscenes will update with whatever you have equipped. I think the only actual FMV (so far) was the opening. And yes, that opening scene was gorgeous.

I've only put a few minutes into it to ensure I had it downloaded and everything. I'm waiting until the weekend so I can put some REAL time into it.

Not even cutscenes. Your base animation updates your weapon and armour to reflect which Materia you have equipped

Yeah, I meant that in addition. Your weapon even reflects the materia in it. It's so damn cool.

This whole game is just so damn good. I'm a committed passenger to the SS Clifa, but this game is making me care for Jesse.

I finally hit Wall Market.

This game is doing so much for me from a mental health perspective. Everything just flat out melts away and it's the only thing I focus on while playing it. It manages to bring up all the feelings I had as a kid when first playing the game and stirring new feelings in me with all the changes that have been made. I can understand someone saying it isn't perfect, but damn is it perfect to me.

Yeah, there are some muddy textures here and there. That's probably the only problem I have. The Wall Market boss is the first boss that actually killed me, so have fun!

And yes, this game also did a lot for my own mental health. I've had a lot of anxiety lately (as I'm sure many of you also do), and it's been such a great escape. I'm truly thankful.

Also, Carbuncle is the most useful summon, utility wise. Try to get the whole party full of ATB before you finally summon him, then rock Emerald and Ruby light in rapid succession, then do Nacre as soon as the summoner gets their ATB back. Boom. Whole party has Haste, Barrier, and Manaward. And then he heals the whole party before he leaves.

Really enjoying this game. It’s challenging enough to be fun but not too hard to annoy me. The only gripe I have is that you have to have an ATB bar charged to even use an item. I’ve died because I didn’t have the energy to ress anyone. Aside from that it’s a great game. I didn’t go for the expensive pre-order, as I couldn’t justify the price difference for what was being offered.

Couldn’t figure out why the Wal Mart boss killed EphemeristX

I actually managed to beat both Wall Market bosses in one try so that was nice. I have more trouble with the regular fights. The fight against the 3 idiots + big guy took me a few tries and the Sector 5 Graveyard fight took me a lot of tries. Enemies who can stun/freeze/sleep you are the bane of my existence.

Honeybee Inn was perfect. It really captures what I love about Cloud and why I believe he's nowhere near the cold hardass that people tend to try and make him out to be.

The graveyard fight was tough until I went and bought some poison resistant accessories from the nearby shop. Much easier then. The bandit fight was hard because I kept getting stunned and it took me too long to recover.

Beat my first run through. I won’t give any spoilers but I had to look at a few websites to get the gist of what the ending means. Suffice to say it’s really an interesting direction the devs seem to be taking us in and it may not be the remake everyone thinks it is.
