That's so weird. I've seen Mysterio so many times. I don't know why it's showing like this.

Maybe it's having trouble loading the texture. Try shutting out of the game completely and then restarting, or check for updates to the game.

Lately I've been having a lot of fun with a deck I don't see in the meta often. I'm still fairly low ranked, but last season it got me into the 50s- the highest I've been yet, and I don't really push too hard to climb the ranks. The goal is to use Sif/Ghost Rider to get something powerful last minute and find a way to lock down a second location, but I've had some creative victories with it. One nice thing is since there's a huge power drop on the last turn, you're often immune to Shang Chi since your opponent is winning most of the game and reveals first. The deck contains:

Sunspot: Great because there are a lot of empty turns
Daredevil: Aiming for a smart turn 5 Professor X play to guarantee a location
Wave: My least favorite card in the deck, because she often backfires, but it allows for a turn 4 Prof/Turn 6 Infinaut, or a Turn 4/5 Magik/Prof
Lady Sif: You really want to discard Odin, but Infinaut is great too
Jubilee: Another way to get some big cards out and lock down a second location.
Ghost Rider: Combo with Sif. Playing Sif to discard Odin, then Ghost Ridering Odin back to the same location will trigger a second high cost discard/play, almost guaranteeing you the location. A turn 6 Ghost Rider lets you drop a lot of power and still boost Sunspot 2 points.
Iron Man: Another way to help claim a second location- as long as Sunspot isn't killed, doubling him tends to work pretty well in this deck
Magik: Great for either getting another draw to complete a combo, boosting Sunspot a little bit more, or letting you play Sif/Ghost Rider on the last turn to really take your opponent by surprise.
Professor X: Great for locking down a second location. I love to Sunspot/Daredevil/Prof all in one place, then Sif/Ghost Rider another spot.
Odin: See Ghost Rider
America Chavez: Works with Sif/Ghost Rider Odin if Infinaut doesn't show up, and gives you predictability on whether you'll get your combo by turn 5
Infinaut: Play using Ghost Rider, or use Wave>Prof to lock down a location on turn 4 and drop him turn 6.

That's an interesting hybrid deck, JJ. Seems kinda 50/50 between discard and Prof X lockdown types, and I hadn't thought (or seen) Sif/Ghost Rider/Odin before. I imagine splitting it like that helps give a lot of flexibility.

I keep trying out different decks but the one I've been playing most this season is a fairly standard Hela discard deck: (2) Invisible Woman, (3) Lady Sif, Sword Master, (4) Jubilee, Ghost Rider, Hell Cow, (5) Capt Marvel, Red Skull, (6) Hela, Magneto, Infinaut, Death. The "everything goes right" combo is Invisible Woman on 2, Sif on 3, Hell Cow on 4, one of the 5 drops on 5 in another lane, and Hela on 6, and hopefully with lots of big cards in hand to discard and spread around. The Hela combo lane is usually 18-20 power, which can win that lane itself, then you just need to get lucky in winning one more lane. What I like is that there's still some flexibility and I've won plenty of games even when the draw doesn't go right, or you get some bad locations. Sometimes you need to do a non-IW-protected discard, which is when GR becomes a lot more valuable, or just use Jubilee/5 drop/Magneto to win by brute force. Even when the other player has Cosmo, they usually can't help but slap it down right away, so you can either concede early for one cube or still pull out the win late; very rare does it seem like anyone holds onto it for the turn 6 + initiative play to block the Hela reveal lane after I've snapped (and if they do, they deserve the 8 cubes!)

I finally got Mystique and want to try a Patriot/Magik/Onslaught/Mystique deck, but I think I need Adam Warlock to really make it work since it's so draw dependent.

The decks that probably give me the most trouble are Silver Surfer ones - it's very difficult to block. Cosmo stops the reveal obviously but you need to time it right or he just goes into another lane. Just seems a bit hard to stop, especially the Sera version that drops 3+ cards on the final turn. I've started to concede early if I see an abnormal amount of 3 drops lol.

I’m really struggling at the moment to build a solid deck. I was alright for a while and ploughed through the early levels but now I’m up against people who have very specific themes decks. I’m going to have to research some different decks to make a decent one up.

Marvelsnapzone.com is great for finding decks. You can input your collection, and then search for decks that only contain cards you own. Finding *good* decks is a little tougher- you can sort based on likes, but that favors old decks and folks tend to gravitate around boosting the same 4-5 metas.

What are some of your more recent cards that you want to play with, Grem?

Had a good run today and managed to hit rank 60 for the free variant.

Chibi Rockslide, which is kinda derpy looking... at least it wasn't a pixel variant though?

I’m on level 40 and really struggling to break it. I haven’t played much over the last couple of days but I’m going to look at one of those deck building sites.

I feel like a deck of ONLY pixel variants would be kinda fun.... but then you gotta go all-in all pixel variants, which I'm not willing to do.

I had the Bachalo Wolfsbane variant pop up last night, but at 1200G. I'm really torn- its one of my most wanted variants for a card I play a lot, but I told myself to be budget conscious and only get the 700G cards.

If it's a wanted variant for a card you play a lot, you should get it! Justify it as using some of that extra gold they gave out over the holidays.

Then again, I just spent all my gold on the broken helmet Hazmat variant, and I just unlocked her and don't have any of the other cards needed to make her work as a deck (Luke Cage, etc.)

Had a minor tweak of my main team and I’ve managed to jump from rank 35-ish to 50. I kind of go with a bit of a disruptive deck with Elektra, Yondu, Polaris, Armor, Spider-Man and Cosmo. Plus a few others like Falcon, Warpath and Morph to compliment it.

I just learned that Daredevil actually lets you click the opponent's cards to see what they are on T5, instead of just seeing where they get placed... I feel dumb.

I wondered how that worked. Ive never had him on my team. Do you have to wait until the other player has finished first?

Yeah, it basically splits the turn up into two stages, other player plays their cards first, then you get to place your cards (being able to see where their cards are and click them to look at them, like when you place cards that haven't revealed yet). The other thing is you still get to snap on your own turn which can be really advantageous. If both players have Daredevil out I think it just cancels out and there's no effect.

Also, Battle Mode (play against your friends) came out with the new update!

Unlocked She-Hulk after she dropped to 1000 tokens, and was finally able to start climbing again running a Magik/She-Hulk/Infinaut deck. Got up to 70 just before the season end, woohoo.

Hoping to see some good Surfer and Zabu nerfs for next season as those two easily make up something like 2/3 or 3/4 of all the decks I see.

I barely see those cards. I am hovering around 50 at the moment, I had a bad week and dropped to 40 but I tweaked my “move” deck and have climbed back again.

Finally an X-themed update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqUGI9nEYUI

Not sure that destroy decks, Galactus and Shuri need another featured card though. >< (Looking back at my last post, I got my wish - Zabu and Surfer got nerfed and show up far less, now everything is just Shuri/Red Skull or Thanos/Lockjaw)

Krakoa's ability confuses me, thematically.
