Been reading more into XCom and this game in particular, I am definitely on board with this. The gameplay will be a huge factor for me when buying this...but if I am being honest I will go ahead and pre-order this regardless. I am super excited for the fact we get X-Men characters outside of a mobile game. If you think about it there haven't been many Marvel games on consoles recently and even less featuring X-Men characters.

The only ones are Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 (which did feature a bunch of X-Characters), the Avengers MMO, and Spider-Man/Miles Morales. There's also an upcoming GotG game that looks pretty neat.

This looks so great! Rise Of The Midnight Sons was one of the very first Marvel stories I read and collected (along with a random smattering of X-Men comics and Warlock & The Infinity Watch). I really fell in love with the team, even though they kind of petered out after Siege Of Darkness. Lilith is still one of my favorite Marvel villains of all time, so I’m just THRILLED about this!

It also makes me wonder - are the horror-type comics coming back? Blade seems to be on the uptick. I’d really love to see the Midnight Sons return to the books proper!!

Blade has a movie coming at some point in the future so they seem to be laying the groundwork for him in the comics again.

We got Gameplay Reveal. Will say, this does not look like a current gen game. Those graphics are rough, but the gameplay doesn't look all that bad.

I agree this doesn't look like a PS5 game, more early PS4 but it's fine, the gameplay looks amazing and I'm excited as hell for this. I am a little disappointed you can only pick from four faces...That's a....strange choice.

I bet that three person squad, like with X-Com, can be upgraded to at least five. But you better believe my squadmates until then will be Nico and Magik.

So Wanda is mentioned in one of the gameplayer trailers...It sounds like something bad happened to her...Hmmm, wonder if that's proof she'll show up or a reason why she won't.

Bits I've learned from trailers:

The Hunter can be either gender and is fully customizable in regards to appearance. Skin, hair, weapons, and costume pieces are interchangeable
Villains include Hydra, Sabretooth, and Lilith herself.
Heroes have upgradeable skills (represented by playing cards) and multiple costumes.
Team-up combo moves are some of the biggest flashiest abilities.
A team consists of three heroes (one of them seems to always be the Hunter) and the player is 'dealt' a hand of cards (abilities) at the start of the match. The player plays them to take turns.
The environment contains usable hazards like barricades, cliffs, and exploding oil drums.
Fights take place on Avengers Tower, at the Sanctum Sanctorum, across the NYC rooftops, and a Hydra base.
The Abbey is a real time explorable hub where the other heroes live and can be interacted with.
There are pets.

That trailer tells me nothing, but I enjoyed it. Found this though, The graphics aren't great but it looks fun. The graphics look early, bad, PS3 era.

That makes more sense. Marvel and Wanda as a Villain. Name a weirder fascination.

The game play looks fun, but the combat system is going to be interesting. I'm not sure I'd want to play this on console. The placement aspect seems like it'd be a bit cumbersome with a controller.

Yeah, this looks like it'll play much better on PC. That's probably where I'm gonna play it.

If you have been following the pre-order news, the game will feature a season pass that includes 4 DLC packs with new heroes. While more characters is always good, I am a bit bummed because this means I will not play it at launch. I don't like to return to games so I will just wait until it is all released. I am still going to pre-order to give max support to the developer, but those playing on opening day will have to let me know how it is.

A little bit surprised as I would have thought that any secret/unrevealed characters would be supernatural in nature and be MCU linked, like Moon Knight.

If you are considering the Season Pass the four post-launch DLC heroes have been announced. In order of release, they will be Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm.

Reviews are heaping praise on this. I’m seeing a lot of 8-9 out of 10s.

The biggest critism seems to be the writing which is a little disappointing.

I've seen people complaining about the cast chosen. Saying there's not enough supernatural/mysticism on the team and... I disagree. I think some characters are there more for popularity (Captain America and Iron Man) but others have some connections that work. Then there's Captain Marvel.

Some of the dialogue in the trailers does seem extremely hammy.

The cast was always going to be 50/50 thematically appropriate and popular. They have to sell these games, and to do that, you need recognizable names. Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Wolverine and DLC/extra characters

move units, like it or not, even if I would've liked some deeper mystical cuts like Doctor Voodoo, Elsa Bloodstone, Satanna, Daimon Hellstrom, Werewolf by Night, and Man-Thing.
