Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy
I am not a big fan of Harry Potter (I have not read any of the books though I saw all the original movies [not Fantastic Beasts]) but the new game coming this year looks pretty awesome. Playstation revealed a lengthy preview video, though it will be on XBox and Switch as well.

Pretty psyched for this. I am impressed at how good it looks given that we are about 8 months from release.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy
I'm surprised no one did this sooner. The Harry Potter games that came out during the release of the movies had some good ideas, but always felt a bit undercooked. I'm guessing most of them were rushed in order to match up with the movie schedule.
I'm uncertain about the combat, though. It seems a bit too... fluid. Strange criticism, I know, but one of the problems with the movies is that they mostly portrayed combat as people shooting quick flashes of light at one another, whereas the book made it seem more interesting, with various effects that you could counter, deflect, and dodge. The books made it seem like there was a delay between wand movement, spell travel time, and its effect taking hold. That explains why Harry could be surprisingly effective against older wizards (his ability to dodge incoming spells). The movies mostly made it seem instantaneous (like in this trailer).

Re: Hogwarts Legacy
You get to choose your house in the game. Anyone else joining me in Ravenclaw?

Re: Hogwarts Legacy
I often choose Ravenclaw. It also seems to be the house missing from the trailer. The companions are from Gryffindor, Slytherin and Hufflepuff so it feels right. Considering that you can explore the common room, it seems a good one to choose as well. It always sounded the most interesting to me.

I'm a Slytherin. I've taken the test a few times and I always get it. Haus of Merlyn, baby.

Depends on what bonuses they offer or whether its a purely superficial choice.

I fluctuate between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. I assume that means that I’d either be keen to research dark arts but not really partake, or, as is more likely, would become an absolute bad-ass practitioner of said dark arts but be clever enough not to be caught.EphemeristX wrote: ↑01 Apr 2022, 19:52I'm a Slytherin. Every single Sorting Hat quiz I've ever taken, even on Pottermore/Wizarding World, has put me in Ravenclaw and I could NOT be happier!

Re: Hogwarts Legacy
Going off of classic DnD stats, what would the bonuses be?
Hufflepuff: +Charisma
Ravenclaw: +Intelligence
Slytherin: +Wisdom
Gryffindor: +Constitution??

Re: Hogwarts Legacy
I’d swap Gryffindor and Hufflepuff to be honest, but only on the basis that Helga Hufflepuff was meant to be the feeder of the four founders and I always equate constitution with food for some reason

Re: Hogwarts Legacy
I'd do:
Hufflepuff: Constitution, because Booty is accurate
Ravenclaw: Wisdom, I just feel they're wiser than smarter.
Slytherin: Charisma, one does not become a Dark Lord without Charisma
Gryffindor: Strength, dumb jocks (kidding, sorta)

Excuse your mouth. The alien view of the bottom of the lake is, in fact, the best view. All I need is a broom to see the Ravenclaw view.AntiBody wrote: ↑08 Apr 2022, 16:56AMEN!! It's gorgeous!!
