Another new Marvel show is rumored to be coming to Disney Plus. There is no word as to what it is but Samuel L Jackson will play Nick Fury and it is being written by Kyle Bradstreet who previously worked on the Emmy-winning Mr Robot.

As much as I love She-Hulk I think I'm looking forward to Ms. Marvel the most.

Am I the only one that's starting to worry about the amount of shows announced? I'm losing track at this point. How many are there? How many episodes will each show have? Does Feige really expect everyone to follow all of them? He seems to indicate that's the plan but it's a tall order for regular viewers. With Disney having financial difficulties as of late it also looks like a big commitment that isn't sure to pay off. I know that they need content for DIsney+ but we are in the middle of a pandemic and are heading for tough times ahead. People will be cutting anything superfluous and a streaming service is bound to be considered by many a luxury that they can't afford.

Well let’s not tell them to cut the shows featuring way more diversity than the movie franchises and the shitty X-Men franchise lol...
Morrison Era 2001-2005, Decimation Era from 2005-2012, Bendis Era 2012-2016, M-Pox era 2016-2017, and Resurrxion 2017-2019, Hickman Era 2019-?

Hum... never told anyone to do that. Just pointing out the inherent risk with a lot of shows and the difficult economic situation that a lot of people worldwide are in. Keep in mind that it was just announced that Disney is laying off 28 000 people. Not the same division but there's plenty of information coming out that Disney is looking to make cuts. I'm sure that in such a large group you'd find a lot of diversity too. We just won't be hearing much about them.

The reason they had to lay off so many is because California will not allow them to open their two theme parks there. Post-pandemic that all comes back to life. The future of entertainment looks to be streaming and they are right to focus their efforts on that. They aren't even remotely close to how many new programs Netflix pumps out. That company really burns money at an unsustainable rate.

But their Disney Plus shows are currently set to only be six episodes. That is how many there are for WandaVision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Loki. I don't think an episode amount has been listed for the other shows in development but I would expect it to be the same. Those shows are Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk.

(There is also a What If show coming to Disney Plus that is ten episodes, but that is animated).

Yeah, those lay-offs are from the theme parks. A completely different section of the company. But the theme parks do generate one of the largest pieces of the company's overall revenue, I think even more than the movies. The continued closure of the parks is very bad for their bottom line.

I don’t know... I think it may be just something that was announced too soon. Like didn’t the show runner post a green heart when the story surfaced and Ruffalo say something like welcome to the family?

Marvel hasn't said anything about Moon Knight casting yet, so Oscar Isaac isn't officially confirmed either.

Eek, I'm not certain that sounds the wisest of moves myself. If Shuri is expected to Black Panther in the sequel, are there another other BP protagonists for the basis of a whole show too? I can't help but feel it'd be defined by what it is missing (Boseman) than what it brings to the table.

Unless it's a whole series of a very angry Winston Duke in full Man-Ape mode. There's always a need for more Man-Ape.

If it takes place during the '5 year gap', it could work very well and help fill in all the gaps they'll need to fill in BP2 concerning the five year gap and allow them to focus on the Boseman/T'Challa less BP2.

Basically the series will be about 'what happens when the King(and his heir) disappear, along with half of Wakanda, right after they've been exposed to the world. Danai Gurira/Okoye is basically the main star, with Angela Basset as the Queen who needs to put up a stiff upper lip when she now lost her two children while needing to keep her nation altogether.

Tons of potential in that kinda of story.
