Ant-Man and The Wasp

Post by Blackcyclops » 30 Jan 2018, 14:23

As someone who really enjoyed the comedic and heist elements of Ant-man, I digged this teaser. This is definitely not you Janet or Nadia’s Wasp lol

But it turns out the film’s synopsis explains exactly when Ant-Man and the Wasp is set – right after Civil War, so presumably before Avengers Infinity War.

The new trailer dropped today.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

We get to see Luis and his crew, Ghost in action, and a bunch more of the pair working together. This looks like so much fun.

You really take a step back this movie has a STACKED cast...and if I had time travel powers I’d love a prequel with the same cast but in the 80s. So a young Fishburne as Black Goliath and so on...have them battle Egghead, the Eel and like the Porcupine just because it’s the 80s lol

Oh my god. 80s Fishburne (Cowboy Curtis!), Pfeiffer, and Douglas fighting a bunch of wackadoos. I'd love it so much.

If you told me a decade ago that I’d be more enamored of an Ant-Man sequel than a cosmic crossover, I would’ve thought you were the crazy one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. While the shine of something new is on it, I’ll put it as one of my favorite MCU films. That may change in the morning light, but no matter what it’s great fun.

2 Ant-Men 2 Wasps made a lot of money but not as much as predicted. Should we panic? Will Marvel Studios put all its solo films on hold? Petition Disney to fire Kevin Feige?

I don't think there's any need to panic. It made way more than Ant-Man did on its first weekend and AMATW was #1 for the weekend so I think all is well. I think Kevin's job is safe ;-)

Right there with Manuel and Anna. Saw it, really enjoyed it, but nothing particularly standing out, except cool that it's one of the first villains that wasn't Loki that ended up being more good than bad, or at least acknowledged her mistakes. I just wish they'd explained her a little more, especially since she was nothing like the real, anti-corporate anarchist Ghost from the comics. Living for Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet, wish she'd had more to do. Paul Rudd remains lovable and hot. Cassie is adorable and the best Kid of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Love Judy and Bobby as Scott's "family," wish they'd had more to do, and really enjoy how it's a unique and non-traditional family dynamic. Hope's hair was better, but weirdly I liked her....less in this movie? I want a female hero that grabs me, but to be fair, Wasp and Scarlet Witch are two of my least favorite characters in comics so I guess I can't expect to love them too much on film either.

I recognize this is a simpler movie that was a deliberate shift from the serious nature of Infinity War. It was fine and well-constructed but I'm still so hyped after Infinity War that the continuation of that story is what I'm really waiting for. This unfortunately felt a bit like filler even if it was very entertaining.

I saw it opening night. It's just one of those movies where I find there isn't much to say about it. It's a solid enjoyable movie. It built off Ant-Man and used Civil War for some character beats but as far as MCU films go it's in the middle.

Ultimately I just want an Ant-Man/Star-Lord moment. Just Peter and Scott sitting around having some drinks and playing off each other.

I actually really loved it as a smaller moment and scale. And it’s prolly the first solo superhero movie where I actually like EVERY single character.

I do vote for Jimmy Woo as the Coulson replacement...my fiancée loved him and so did I...
